2015 Weight Loss Goals

Sharing is caring!

Optimistic Mommy's 2015 Weight Loss GoalsI am about to get very deep with you. This post (mainly the photos) are hard for me to let you see, to be quite honest. But it needs to be done. Something I have struggled with ever since giving birth to my beautiful daughter, is my weight. I am sure many of you understand what I mean. I did have postpartum depression after giving birth (thankfully I was treated and no longer have depression now), and that combined with my love of food and the fact that I’m not very active – and I’ve gained weight. I weight 130 in high school. Of course, at that time I thought I was fat. Man, how I wish I was that “fat” again. Today I am going to share my weight with you, pictures of what I look like right now, and my goals to hopefully get down to a healthy weight.

Right now, I am 194.0 pounds. That doesn’t sound too bad, but with my short stature, it really does make a difference. Right now my BMI (body mass index) is 34.4 which puts me at obese. My goal is to get down to 140 pounds. Now, on to my least favorite part… the photos.

2015 Weight Loss Goals - Starting: 194.0 Pounds | Optimistic Mommy

This is my front, side, and back shots. I took these last night, Wednesday, January 7, 2014 at 11:00pm. To be completely honest, I’m disgusted by the way I look. And I make comments about it just about every day – which drives my husband crazy. He says he loves me no matter what (which, of course, I believe), but I want to love my body too. I don’t want my daughter to hear me bad mouth my body and then hear her say those same things about herself when she’s older. That would absolutely break my heart. So, I need to change. I know it will be hard, but it absolutely has to be done. It’s necessary for my health. I lost my mom unexpectedly on May 10, 2013. I don’t want to die early because of my health. I want to be around for Riley, and hopefully future children, for a very long time. So, starting this week I am changing my habits and working on losing weight. Next, I am sharing my health goals with you.

Log All Food and Beverages Into MyFitnessPal

I have an account on MyFitnessPal and some days I will log one or two of the things I eat and drink, but I want to get better at doing it for everything that goes in my mouth. If you have an account, please follow me – my username is courtneylynne09!

Only Drink Pop 3 Times Per Week

Right now, I am drinking pop probably 8-9 times per week. Honestly, I’m not real sure. But I want to bring that down. I love my Coca-Cola, and I still would like to get my “fix,” at least for now. Maybe I’ll completely quit sometime, but right now I’m just setting a goal to only drink pop 3 times per week.

Eat 4 Salads Per Week

Salads are great for you. I like eating salads, but I just never eat enough of them. So I want to eat more of them.

Ride On The Stationary Bike 4 Days Per Week For 20 Minutes

For exercise equipment, we just have a stationary bike right now. It’s mainly being used as a coat rack right now, though. I’m clearing it off today and I’m going to start riding it for at least 20 minutes four days a week. I plan on listening to a couple podcasts while on it, since one of my personal goals is to listen to some.

Eat Breakfast Daily

Let me just tell you, it is a very rare occassion that I eat breakfast. I just am not a huge breakfast eater. I will eat breakfast on Sundays since we go out as a family for breakfast after church. Or, if my husband makes cinnamon rolls on his days off I’ll sometimes eat them. But that’s it. I plan on looking up some health breakfast options on Pinterest and finding some favorites. If you have some favorite breakfast ideas, please share them in the comments!

Work Up To 8 Glasses Of Water Per Day

I like water, but I don’t drink it a lot. Maybe 3 glasses a week? Not good, I know. This week I am going to try drinking 3 glasses per day. I want to work myself up to 8 glasses, because I know there’s no way I’ll be able to go from drinking basically no glasses to 8 in one day.

Eat Pasta Just Once Per Week

I absolutely adore pasta. It’s my favorite food. Especially with alfredo sauce. But, the carbs are bad. So, pasta will just be a treat once per week. I think this will work since I’ll still get a taste of it once a week.

Lose 2 Pounds Per Week

As far as weight loss goes, I would like to try and lose 2 pounds per week. I figure this is a pretty healthy weight loss.

Lose 54 Pounds

For the BIG goal – I want to get down to 140 pounds, so I need to lose 54 pounds.

This has me very nervous even putting this post out to all of you – but I think this will help keep me a lot more accountable. Each week I will be giving you an update of my wins and loses and let you know how I’m doing with my goals. Every four weeks I will be showing you update pictures. If you have ANY tips at all, I more than welcome them! And, of course, I would love encouragement. That will help me lots, too! Make sure to follow me on MyFitnessPal, too. I would love to help encourage you in your goals. I cannot wait to get to a healthier me and be happy in my body. Here’s to a happier, healthier 2015!

What tips or encouragement do you have for me?

  1. YOU CAN DO IT!! Giving up coke is hard! I went from 5-6 a day down to 1 in a few months, but it took me a year to give it up. I was doing great for about 6 months, but over the holidays I went back to 1-2 a day and My muffin top is busting out!!

I am so excited for your journey. Blogging as to be the biggest sedentary job on the planet! My computer is in my bedroom so I literally can walk less than 1,000 steps on a heavy blogging day!

  2. I’m cheering for you!!! I’ve been trying to lose some weight, and so far, it hasn’t worked. It doesn’t help I have to be outside in the cold a lot and then I get hungry to warm up. I need to try something like what you are doing, as just simply trying isn’t working!!!
