Steps to follow: When Planting a Green Giant
- Select the Location
The allocation of place for planting a green giant must be done while ensuring the sunlight. It makes the growth best.
- Stretch a garden hose
The next step is to extend the hose in the backyard at the place where you want to plant a green giant. Then spread the spray paint over the ground, making a planting row.
- Loosen the Soil
In the next step, you are supposed to loosen the soil along the painted planting row. Adding soil amendments such as lead mold or grass clipping in the case of poor soil conditions; is not a bad option. You can buy a soil Ph test kit to analyze the nature and condition of the soil.
- Dig a Trench

Now place the arborvitae containers in the trench you just dug. If you want a denser fence, you should reduce the space between the arborvitae. Meanwhile, keep in mind that every plant must be given ample space to grow.
- Fill the Trench
Since you have placed the arborvitae containers in the trench, now you are supposed to fill the trenches. You must ensure that all the air pockets are removed.
- Thick Layer of Mulch
In this step, you are supposed to apply a thick layer of mulch across the base of the arborvitae. It should no more or less than 2-3 inches of thickness. Here you should assure that the trunks are away from the mulch as it may cause growth issues.
- Water the Arborvitae
The next step is to frequently water the arborvitae. Once the plants get established, they will need plenty water supply in the summer drought.
