DIY Unicorn Planter

This DIY unicorn planter adds a touch of whimsy to your decor. These are adorable, easy to make and put the fun in functional this spring!

If you are like my family, we love unicorns! In fact, that’s going to be the theme for our new baby’s nursery. Seeing so many adorable unicorn ideas has made me want to bring the fun of the style to other areas of the house too. Spring has been the ideal time to do just that with a DIY unicorn planter.

These are perfect for a patio and make a charming home for any potted plant. I used a small terracotta pot for this planter. You could make these in an assortment of sizes to bring a little magic to your space. I love the idea of grouping a few sizes together!

Materials

Instructions

  1. Begin by applying two coats of white paint to the flower pot. Allow the paint to dry well in between coats.
  2. Once the paint is dry, take the black marker and create the eyes of your unicorn. A simple half moon shape with added eyelashes will do.
  3. Cut the horn out of the scrapbook paper. A simple scalloped edge triangle works great.
  4. Add a dab of glue to the back of the horn and glue it to the top of the pot, right between the eyes of the unicorn.
  5. Once all pieces are dry, place the faux flowers of choice inside of the unicorn pot and display.
