We all know that flossing twice a day is just as important as brushing your teeth, if not even more so, but flossing properly is the key to maintaining healthy teeth for years to come. Using an interdental brush is a good idea, as they are great at removing plaque and debris effectively.

Minimize Sugar Consumption

There are so many harmful effects of consuming refined sugar that no one should be consuming more than four teaspoons of sugar per day and, preferably, even less. From the dental perspective, sugar causes and hastens tooth decay, increases plaque build-up, and makes your mouth a hospitable environment for oral bacteria. The same applies to carbonated drinks, sweets, candies, chocolates, etc. It’s not that you can’t have them; just keep it to a minimum.

Regular Dental Check-ups

Most oral and dental problems can be controlled or eradicated altogether if diagnosed in time and that can only happen if you go for regular dental check-ups. On the other hand, if you ignore a small problem at its early stage, it will inevitably catch up with you down the line and put you in a lot more trouble as you get older.

Aging is an inevitable process, but that doesn’t mean we cannot retain a good portion of our health as we head towards seniority.
