This month I am bringing you two delicious recipes using catering trays from Chick-fil-A! Today’s is a super simple Slow Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup. This was a major hit in my household!
Slow Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup
These yummy soup takes just a few ingredients:
- Chick-fil-A Nuggets Tray
- Tortilla Chips
- Mexican Blend Shredded Cheese
- Carrots
- Onion
- Chicken Broth
- Diced Tomatoes
- Diced Green Chile Peppers
First dice up a few carrots and about 1/4-1/2 of the onion. Add all the ingredients except for the Nuggets. Cook on low for about 4 hours, or high 2-3 hours.
{Oh my goodness, don’t those make your mouth water just looking at them?!}
After the 2-4 hours that the base is cooking, take your Chick-fil-A Nuggets tray and cut up a couple handfuls. I did about 2-3 cups or so.
Add your chopped chicken to the slow cooker with the other ingredients and cook on low for about an hour. When it is finished cooking, add some tortilla chips to the bottom of a bowl and top with the soup and Mexican blend shredded cheese. Enjoy!
I’ll see you next week with the next Chick-fil-A recipe I have for you! This one will be using their Chicken Salad! 🙂

I’m a 20-something stay-at-home mother and wife. I have an amazing husband, a beautiful daughter, two loving dogs, and a lazy cat. I wouldn’t change my life for anything! I love to read, listen to music, cook and blog!
So smart to use the nuggets in the soup! Looks great!
Thank you so much! 🙂
wow how cool is that to use fast food and turn it into a nice soup yummy
It was definitely very delicious! The addition of Chick-fil-A is what made it even better! 🙂
Wow, I would have never thought to use their nuggets in a recipe. This is great, I love Chick Fil A!
Chick-fil-A is awesome! 🙂
I really wish they would open a Chick-fil-A here in Michigan. I have yet to find one close by I live in Otsego Mi.
Those heart shaped chicken bisket’s look amazing
That stinks that there’s not one in Michigan! 🙁 Their chicken biscuits are delicious!
Ummm, forget about the soup…I want the whole chicken by myself! I love chick-fil-la chicken, it is the best! What a great opportunity!
Chick-fil-A has AMAZING chicken! I love them! 🙂

I’ve never had chicken tortilla soup. Looks really tasty! I keep forgetting to add to my shopping list that I need a slow cooker, to try out some of these amazing recipes.
Chicken Tortilla Soup is great – especially with the Chick-fil-A nuggets! 🙂 You definitely need to get a slow cooker – we actually have a couple of them! 🙂
Awesome that there are some fresh veggies! I am liking the carrots and onions!
Iwhat a great twist on everyone’s favorite!
It looks absolutely delicious and reading the recipe seems simple enough to do
It was very simple to do! Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
It’s really clever to use prepared nuggets in these recipes! I love Chik-Fil-a but the closest one to my new home is nearly an hour away. It is where I eat anytime I’m over there, though!
That stinks that it’s so far away! Hopefully a Chick-fil-A will come to your area soon!
I have never thought to cook with their food. My boys eat all the nuggets before we even get home when we go. That does look good though.
Chick-fil-A’s nuggets are amazing! And this soup was delicious!
I really like Chik Fil A nuggets so I bet they would be delicious in a soup too. I bet it was a major hit!
It was amazing! Anything with Chick-fil-A would be great, though! 🙂 My whole family loved it.

Chick-fil-A is definitely an amazing company! I love everything they stand for.
Yum! This recipe looks so delicious! Will pin it so that we can try it in the future!
Great! You will love it! The Chick-fil-A nuggets are what really make it, of course! 🙂
This sounds like a delicious meal! I pinned it so I can try it out. I really need to learn to use my slow cooker more.
Thank you so much for the pin! I love using my slow cooker – it makes meals so much easier!
Oh this post is killing me! We moved to Las Vegas two years ago and while I really love living here, I HATE that there is no Chick-fil-a! The soup sounds delicious. What I wouldn’t give for a big ol nugget tray or a chicken biscuit!
Wow! I can’t believe Las Vegas doesn’t have a Chick-fil-A! That’s crazy!
That chicken tortilla soup looks delish. I love slow cooker recipes – tahnks for sharing.
Thank you so much for your comment! Slow cooker recipes are definitely the best!
Now I’m starving. That looks really good, I’m going to pin it
Thank you so much, Melanie! I appreciate the kind words and the pin!
This soup looks like the ideal meal to enjoy this weekend when that blizzard they have been warning us about hits NYC.
I hope the blizzard ends up not as bad as they’re calling for! I’m in Ohio and we are so over all this snow we’ve gotten this year!
This looks super yummy! Would I be weird if i said I’ve never eaten at Chick Fil-A. Hubby has eaten there numerous times and tells me I don’t know what I’m missing. I do promise to eat there this year.
Oh my goodness! You’re hubby is definitely right! I can’t wait for you to get your first taste – you’ll fall in love with Chick-fil-A! 🙂
Very creative cooking. This really looks delicious and I think I will give this a try. Can’t wait until next week.
Thank you! It was very delicious! The Chick-fil-A nuggets were a great addition! 🙂
What a fun weekend recipe! I love that you use scissors in the kitchen, I have a pair for that too and my family laughs at me. 😉
They definitely come in handy, that is for sure!
You are so versatile in the kitchen. I really loved the way you used your ingredients to come up with tasty foods.
Thank you so much! 🙂 I love cooking, that is for sure!
Really creative recipe! To be honest, I’d be munching on a lot of the ingredients before getting to make the soup haha
To best honest with you, Ronnie, I definitely was sneaking some nuggets while making it. 😉
My gosh, I just had lunch & now I’m hungry again looking at this! Yum!
I’m glad you like it! 🙂
YUMMY! Chick Fil A and the slow cooker – you can’t get any better than that for sure!
I have to agree with you there! 🙂
We love Chick-fil-A! This looks so good! I wish we had one near us!
Chick-fil-A is delicious! That stinks that there’s not one close to you! 🙁
This sounds really good and I can’t wait to try it. It might be perfect this week since we’re supposed to get snowed in…
That’s no fun! 🙁 I know us here in Cincinnati are tired of all the snow!
Just reading this makes my tummy feel warmer already. Yum!
It was very delicious! 🙂
Chicken tortilla soup is my favorite soup ever. I’m going to try this recipe.
Chicken tortilla soup is definitely very yummy! 🙂
Love using the nuggets! We always have extras and this would be a great way to use them up.. instead of mom eating them!

Ohhh! That looks sooo good! I love chickfila!
Chick-fil-A is great! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, Sarah!
Chicken Tortilla Soup is my ABSOLUTE favorite soup ever. I love that you cut out the hard step of baking the chicken and picked some up at Chick-Fil-A. My kids will ONLY eat Chick-Fil-A nuggets so I may have to try this recipe soon.
I’m sure they would love this recipe then, Krissy! Chick-fil-A is the best! 🙂
YUM! Great idea for reusing… we cater a lot of events here at work and this is a great idea for left overs.
This looks delicious. Thank you for sharing and linking up at gingham and roses!
This looks very yummy but I don’t think we have the ‘chick-fil-A’ here in Australia. What is it exactly? Perhaps I could substitute.
What a delicious idea. This soup looks amazing. I just love soup! Great work.
What a clever idea to use the premade nuggets. My husband is a total Mafalda when it comes to soup, but he’s okay with tortilla soup as long as it’s full of toppings. This looks delicious, Courtney!
Awesome way to use fast food leftovers! Love this idea, thanks for sharing:)
My mother would go crazy for this because she loves tortilla soup! Sadly we don’t have a Chick-fil-A near us. I guess I’d have to find something else to use for the nuggets. 🙁
This looks so yummy, thanks for sharing!

How lucky I would love to be a ambassador for them and my son would think we died and he went to heaven if I was. I also love this soup and can not wait to try it. I am going to serve it at my Networking meeting.
I am not sure the chicken nuggets would last long enough at our house to make it into the soup! Your recipe (and the chicken) looks delicious.
Looks delicious and am sure my kids would love it 🙂 Will make it with real cooked chicken pieces though rather than the nuggets for a healthier option for me 🙂
This looks delicious!!!!!! It seems like a fast and easy meal, which is great on those especially busy days (which is pretty much every day in my house!). Thanks for the tip and I look forward to more!
I love cooking with my slow cooker. The great tastes you can get, especially when you use all fresh ingredients. This one is definatley a must try!
That looks SO good! I am SO bummed we don’t have a Chick Fil A here! We don’t get anything good! I guess that is small town livin for ya! But I bet you could really use any chicken nuggets? I will have to pin this to try!
YUM..This is a great idea for left overs too. So weird to say but my kids despise chicken nuggets. REALLY!! I have strange ones.
Funny story: I have never had Chick-Fil-A! It looks tasty though, I wonder if I could substitute another regular nugget. It might not be AS tasty, but at least I could make it! No Chick-Fil-A’s here on Hawaii:(
That looks amazing! We just got a chick-fil-a, but I used to eat there all the time when I worked at the mall before we moved where we are now. They had the best peppermint shakes in the winter, yum!
I absolutely LOVE Chick-Fil-A! This soup looks amazing!
This makes me miss having a chick fil a in town. We so need one in Missoula, I loved their nuggets and the soup looks delicious.
What a fabulous idea! I never would have thought to do this, but seriously…what a time saver. AND, you can’t go wrong with a little Chick-fil-A!
