Spring Vase Tutorial | Optimistic Mommy

If you saw my post on Saturday for the Happy Easter banner, you may have noticed another item in the one picture – a bottle/vase. Today I’m bringing you the tutorial to make your own spring vase – perfect for those spring flowers, like daisies, tulips, and more! With just a few supplies, you canmake a beautiful vase to hold your daisies, tulips, or other favorite Spring flower!

Supplies:

  • 1 Empty Bottle or Jar (For this tutorial, an empty wine bottle was used. If you are not a wine drinker, ask a friend for one or you may be able to pick up one from a local restaurant.)
  • Yarn (Use the color of your choice.)
  • Buttons – 2 Different Colors & Sizes
  • Green Felt or Yarn
  • Hot Glue & Glue Gun
  • Ribbon in Coordinating Color

To begin, start with cleaning the bottle you have selected. While it is not necessary to remove the label, you do want to be sure that the label is not loose at all. Clean the inside of the bottle as well.

Apply a small amount of hot glue at the top of the neck of the bottle and press the end of your yarn into the glue. Begin wrapping the yarn tightly around the bottle, working your way down. Apply a drop of hot glue to the back of the bottle every few inches to secure the yarn. When you reach the base of the bottle, again, secure the yarn with hot glue.

Layout your buttons to create flowers by placing one color button in the center and 6 buttons around it. Carefully glue the buttons to the yarn.

Use green felt or yarn to create stems and leaves and secure to the yarn with hot glue as well.

Tie the ribbon around the neck of the bottle vase and tie into a bow. Voil you are done!

Tip: If the vase will be used where one side faces a wall or is not visible, you can apply a different decoration to the backside for another season!
