Today is the Day I Commit Myself To God

Since losing my mom on May 10th, I have been through very hard days. Losing your best friend in the world is one of the most devastating things. But a couple of good things have come of it. I have realized that life does go on after the death of a dear one. And I have gotten closer to God. I was very angry with Him at first because I don’t understand how He can just take someone from you without you getting to say goodbye. But as time goes on I know that I need Him in my life. God has His reasons for everything, and He will guide you in the right direction if you let him.

Going to church the past couple of months has really changed my life. Pastor Doug at Church on Fire is amazing. I always come out crying because what he tells us is so powerful. You can definitely tell that God has his hands on him.

Today I will be committing myself to God in front of my family and friends as I get baptized. If you live close and would like to come, I would love to see you there. It is being held at Lake Julie Ann. The address is 9300 West Road Cleves, Ohio 45002. It is at 7pm. I hope to see you there.

“But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever.”
Psalm 52:8

  1. Congrats! I was baptized in Nov. of 2012. I want to warn – and the bible does too – that the devil is on the prowl! He wants to attack you and devour you! I felt more attacked after my baptism than every in my life. The more connected you are to God, the more the devil wants to get a stronghold. Be aware, stay strong, and stay connected to other believers!

    • Thanks!
And oh, I believe it. I’m excited because this Friday & Saturday I’m going to Columbus for a Women of Faith Conference. I’m so excited to 1. Get away for a couple days and 2. Meet other Christian women. Being around others who love God as well will make me feel even stronger, I believe. 🙂

  2. Making a commitment to follow the Lord can be challenging but it is also very rewarding. God bless you more as you continue to follow Him. I pray that the Lord will also continue to comfort you over the passing away of your Mom. Found your blog from Bloggy Moms blog hop. By the way, I also followed you on Google+.

  3. It’s lovely to hear that the LORD draws you even through hardship. Know that HE loves you abundantly. and that the relationship is very important to HIM. So attacks are just to be recognised and addressed to HIM, than you don’t need to deal with it. HE said: be alert, not alarmed, don’t worry , trust everything to ME!!!
Many wonderful experiences and hope for your mum that she in in the Arms of Jesus!

  4. Thanks for sharing your story and your rebirth with us!!
