One of my goals this year has been to do more for others.  There’s nothing more gratifying than helping out others and putting a smile on their face.  I’m so glad to see brands who are interested in the same thing as I am.  Did you know that Tyson has partnered with Champions for Kids in a program that is called “Summer of Giving”? Since 2000, Tyson has donated more than 91 MILLION pounds of protein to food banks, relief agencies, and food pantries in the United States. That is a lot of chicken! But they do not want to stop there.

#Ad Help End Hunger and Chicken Wrap Recipe! #SummerOfGiving! | Optimistic Mommy By purchasing specially marked packages of Tyson frozen products, including Day Starts, Grilled & Ready, Any’tizers and chicken nuggets, each bag purchased will also equal 1 meal donated to children in need by Tyson! So not only will you receive a meal, but you will know that a child in need will be getting fed as well. What could be better than that?  Make sure to stop by your local Walmart and check the freezer aisle to get those specially marked packages.  You can find more information by visiting the KNOW Hunger page on Tyson. In honor of the Summer of Giving, this evening I am headed to a friend’s house.  I have known this lady and her husband for quite a few years now.  Unfortunately she just recently lost her job and her husband’s job has cut down on hours, and with a child, that’s not good.  So, to help them out just a bit I am bringing dinner over for them to enjoy.  It may just be one meal, but I have been down and out a couple times and I know that meal can mean the world to them.  Tonight they’ll be enjoying some Chicken Wraps using Tyson Chicken Fries and Tyson Grilled & Ready Southwestern Chicken Breast Strips.  Unfortunately my local Walmart did not have the specially marked packages, but I will be going back again in a couple of days to see if they have them in stock yet. #Ad Help End Hunger and Chicken Wrap Recipe! #SummerOfGiving! | Optimistic Mommy

Chicken Wrap Recipe

#Ad Help End Hunger and Chicken Wrap Recipe! #SummerOfGiving! | Optimistic MommyIngredients:

  • Tyson Grilled & Ready Southwestern Chicken Breast Strips And/Or Tyson Any’Tizers Chicken Fries
  • Lettuce And/Or Tortilla Wraps
  • Ranch Dressing
  • Bacon

Directions: Begin by preparing the chicken as directed on package. While the chicken is cooking, fry up a few slices of bacon – I did 2 slices per wrap. #Ad Help End Hunger and Chicken Wrap Recipe! #SummerOfGiving! | Optimistic Mommy When the chicken and bacon are cooked, now is the time for the fun part – putting the wrap together!  Using either the tortilla wrap or a lettuce leaf, first put on the chicken you wish to use, either the Tyson Chicken Fries or the Grilled & Ready Southwestern Chicken Breast Strips), then the bacon, ranch and the cheese. Enjoy! #Ad Help End Hunger and Chicken Wrap Recipe! #SummerOfGiving! | Optimistic Mommy These Chicken Wraps not only make for an easy meal, but are super delicious!  You can also make the Southwestern one a little spicier, you can add a Southwest Ranch like my husband did in the above picture!  You can also add any other toppings you enjoy – mushrooms, peppers, etc.!  Make it to fit you and your individual tastes.

How are you going to make this a #SummerOfGiving?

  1. I love this idea, but every time I buy lettuce I wind up throwing away so much. I need to plan a week of lettuce recipes so I can make delicious stuff like this!

  2. My kids love the chicken fries! Never thought about using them as a wrap! What a simple and easy lunch idea!

  3. Such a great idea!! Those wraps look delicious. I also love the Summer of Giving campaign, it’s wonderful that these companies are helping those in need, and making it so easy for us to help as well! #client
