Addiction Rehab Costs in Canada Are Now More Affordable Than Ever

Sharing is caring!

Various types of addictions including alcohol, street drugs, such as cocaine, amphetamines, and cannabis, prescription medication, such as opioids, pornography, gambling, and even gaming, are steadily increasing in Canada. Many types of Canadian addiction rehabs are now more affordable than ever.

What is Addiction Rehab?

Rehab or rehabilitation is the process of helping someone heal from dependency on alcohol, drugs, or other illicit or unhealthy vices.

It may involve professionals such as psychologists, psychotherapists, addictions counselors, physical therapists, community leaders, and even religious leaders.

Inpatient Vs Outpatient Options

  • Inpatient Services – Although many addicts are often successful with outpatient services, inpatient services are often more beneficial, as they remove patients from the trigger points in their lives. For instance, in inpatient rehab centers, alcohol, drugs, and even phones are prohibited.

Inpatient services are found in hospitals and special clinics. Addicts will first be placed into detox under medical supervision and then begin therapy. Patients receive treatment during the day and are required to stay at the clinic for a set amount of time, usually 30, 60, or 90-days.

Various types of therapy include Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural (CBT), and Mindfulness-Based (MBCT).

Inpatient services are typically more expensive than outpatient services. Specialized treatments, such as medically supervised detox and prescription drug monitoring, will typically raise costs as well. In addition, private rooms in inpatient centers are more expensive than shared rooms.

Inpatient services are recommended for those suffering from severe addiction and need to detox. Detoxification can be very dangerous to do without 24/7 medical supervision.
