Exciting Announcement!

Sharing is caring!

I have some exciting news that has to do with my family. My husband and I, as you all should know, have a wonderful 14 and a half month old daughter. Well, we want to expand our family. But right now instead of having our own child, we want to become foster parents! We are in the process of learning about a few foster care agencies around our city and we will pick one and start the process! We are very excited about doing this. There is nothing we love more than being parents and we want to help other children who are in foster care be able to have a home until their situation gets straightened out. Or, if a child is permanently in foster care, maybe becoming adoptive parents. We will see when we go down that road, though.

Are you a foster parent? Do you know anyone that is? Do you have any advice for my husband and me? I would

  1. How exciting! Very good friends of ours are fostering to adopt. They have 3 girls biologically. They have been fostering 3 brothers for nearly a year and hope to have the adoption finalized before the start of the school year. It has been an amazing journey for them. Wishing you the best!

  2. That is wonderful you are choosing to provide a family to those who need it! I wish you the best of luck.

  3. Congratulations on a wonderful decision. We have close friends who foster (we adopted), and they would probably say it is the hardest thing they’ve done (in some cases), but the most rewarding undertaking they’ve had in all cases. Keep your marriage strong–a united front–because you don’t want the stress to divide you.
    Again, Congratulations!
Oh, and I found you through the bloghop:).

  4. That is so awesome! I personally haven’t been a foster parent nor do I know of anyone, but I commend you and your husband for opening up your home and your hearts this way. Kudos to you!

  5. Congratulations! That is so exciting! I’m not sure about the ins of foster parenting, as I haven’t done it nor do I know anyone who has…but I look forward to reading about your family’s journey!

  6. My friend and his wife have 5 kids of their own, and are foster parents to infant twin boys! It takes a special person to be able to do this! Good for you!

    Warmest regards,

  8. Courtney,
That is very exciting news. I know several people who have become foster parents for children with special needs. I’m not sure if that’s what you’re doing, but I know it takes a very special family to do that. God Bless you and your family!

  9. That is wonderful! There are so many children that are in need of a wonderful family. I knew of people growing up that did foster care and thought so much of them. I think its awesome that you are doing it 🙂 Bless you both and best wishes!

  10. How wonderful!!!
I have mentioned to my hubs a few times that I would like to look into being foster parents some day. He says we aren’t ready yet and since we have a special needs daughter that requires constant attention, he’s probably right.

God bless you and may He lead you on your path.

  11. Congratulations on becoming foster parents! I was raised by foster parents from birth to age 2, at which point I was adopted. God bless you and your husband for providing a loving, safe home to children who need one!
