4 Great Hobbies for Lovers of the Great Outdoors

Sharing is caring!

Whitewater Rafting

If you naturally love nature, consider yourself lucky. Nature lovers don’t need much to be happy and there are so many types of activities that you can try. They also don’t need to be with a large group to enjoy themselves. It’s still possible to get bored, however, but this can be fixed by going for new activities. If you are looking for new hobbies that will allow you to enjoy nature even more, here are some great hobbies for lovers of the great outdoors.

Photography

If you want to turn your love of nature into a lucrative career, you should try photography. All you need is a good camera, something to photograph, proper technique, and an eye for beauty. The last one can’t be bought, but the other three can.

If you want to learn photography, you could watch some training videos on YouTube or look for MOOCs on photography. You could also go for an actual photography class at a local institute if you really want to be respected as a photographer.

Hunting

Hunting is another great hobby you could try. If you like being nestled in nature and have always felt like you had a hunter spirit, then this could be the perfect choice for you.

Know, however, that there are plenty of regulations you’ll have to abide by before you start hunting. You’ll need to be aware of the hunting season wherever you want to hunt, as well as which species are protected. You’ll also be required to follow a hunter safety certificate on top of a hunting license wherever you are before you can start, even in states that are more liberal towards hunting like Florida.

If you happen to live there, you can take a Florida hunter safety course online at ilearntohunt.com. Online courses will usually allow you to complete the theory part completely online and give you a voucher so you can go on a mandatory field day. Only once you’ve completed the field day will you receive your hunting safety certification.

Golf

Golf is probably the best major sport for anyone who likes being in nature. Some of the golf courses out there are absolutely gorgeous and will make you forget that you’re in a controlled environment. If you think golf is boring, then you should try going on a golf course at least once with a few of your closest friends. You’d be surprised at how much fun you can have.

Whitewater Rafting

If you need a little bit more action, then you can always try whitewater rafting instead. The nice part about Whitewater rafting is that you’ll get to do it with other people and have a chance at building strong friendships. If you’re scared, go with a large group with good instructors. You can also choose the course based on your experience and risk tolerance.

If you love nature and wanted to mix it up, these are all activities that you could consider. Give one or all of these a try and don’t be afraid to go for something you never thought you’d do before.
