5 Easy Frugal Lifestyle Tips to Pick Up Today

Sharing is caring!

Are you looking for ways to save money and live a frugal lifestyle? Have you been trying to figure out how to create a budget but don’t know where to start? Well, this article will introduce five easy frugal lifestyle tips that you can pick up today; each one will help save money and time!

Keep an Eye on Coupons and Promotions

This week when shopping at your favorite store! Go to your store’s website and sign up for store emails. You can get weekly updates, coupons, and promotions that will help you take full advantage of your purchases from the drive-thru line to the grocery store checkout register! You will also receive the weekly circulars where you will learn about future promotions and coupons.

Cook from Scratch

Make your own coffee at home instead of going out for a daily latte: This is an easy way to save a couple of bucks every day. Cooking from scratch saves so much money because you’re not buying the convenience foods that are usually loaded with preservatives. It also costs you less than $20 for the week, and if you make leftovers at dinner, then this one is even easier

Plant an herb garden

Raising your own herbs is so easy; it’s basically the equivalent of planting lettuce! You can grow basil, parsley, rosemary, or thyme with just a little bit of sunlight. I love to keep my pots on our back porch, so they get the morning sun and can stay cool in the afternoon. This will save you a lot of money. It’s fun and satisfying to grow things like tomatoes, herbs, and lettuce at home.

Planning meals ahead of time and Choosing store brands

I’m always surprised by how much money we save when I plan our dinners ahead of time in a menu planner or on the calendar! When you know what’s for dinner all week, it’s easier to use store weekly ads to get groceries and make what we need for the week. Store-brand products are often just as good, if not better, than their name-brand counterparts. We always end up saving money when I buy store brands because they’re usually cheaper! Sometimes it’s hard to believe that something that tastes just as good but costs less can be true, but it is!

Carry reusable water bottles

We have been using a Brita filter pitcher for years now, but sometimes I forget to fill it up! So instead of throwing away disposable plastic water bottles every day, we keep a few stainless steel containers on hand at all times. I use one for my coffee in the morning and another to store water at work.

Bulk buying frozen veggies

Frozen vegetables are a great way to save money because they’re cheaper than fresh produce, last longer on your shelf (no need to worry about them going bad), and you don’t have time to cook dinner every day. Not to mention, they’re healthier since they’re picked and frozen at peak freshness. Bulk buying has really helped us cut back significantly. Buying things like paper towels and toilet paper in the giant packs from Costco or Sam’s saves a lot of money when you consider how many rolls are in the pack. Plus, you don’t have to worry about running out of toilet paper as long as we keep stockpiling it!

Now that you’ve gotten some great tips for saving money try to incorporate them into your lifestyle over time. You’ll be surprised at how much they will add up and help you live a more frugal life.
