I have finished my 8 week Jenny Craig journey! It has definitely been a huge learning experience, and I have learned things both about Jenny Craig and lessons I can use after the program.

First, let me tell you about my last visit. Unfortunately I didn’t have my regular consultant because she got married the weekend before (congratulations, Amber!) but Amy was just as great. I had worked really hard by going to the gym 3 times that week and only had one unexpected dine out. So I was expecting a great loss. Unfortunately I was at the same weight as the week before. So that was a little disappointing, but Amy was great about not letting me get down on myself.

Since it was my 8th week, we took measurements. Guess how many inches I’ve lost in 8 weeks? 12 total inches! That is a huge deal. And I can tell the difference – my pants aren’t fitting as tightly around my waist, and my shirts don’t seem to be quite as tight. So even though I didn’t lose any weight, I am losing inches. {*Results not typical. Members following our program can expect to lose, on average 1-2 lbs per week. I want to share some of the things I have learned while on Jenny Craig – both about the program and lessons I’m now using that I’m no longer on the program.

  • Jenny Craig’s food is absolutely delicious! I was really worried that the food wouldn’t be the best and I wouldn’t enjoy it at all. The opposite is true. Besides the fat free ranch dressing, I loved everything else? My top favorite foods were the Turkey & Wild Rice, Loaded Baked Potato, and the Homestyle Pot Roast.
  • Breakfast is so important. I have never been a huge breakfast eater. But of course I had to eat it every morning with Jenny Craig. I definitely notice that my body is more ready for the day after eating breakfast now.
  • Do not get down on yourself if the scale doesn’t move as fast as you want. Your body is taking time to adjust, especially if you are also exercising.
  • Even if the scale doesn’t show a lot of progress, you are more than likely losing inches. I thought that since I hadn’t lost a whole lot, I wasn’t gaining anything. But losing 12 inches is most definitely a difference.
  • When you have to dine out, proportions are so important. They give you a great sheet to help you with those dineouts that gives you suggestions on what to eat and things to avoid, which helps out a lot. I know this is going to help me out even after the program.

I know I wasn’t perfect on my Jenny Craig journey, but it has definitely opened my eyes to the things I wasn’t doing correctly before I joined the program. I am definitely going to be incorporating healthy meals into my family’s lives now, and I will still continue going to the gym. I will also continue to keep you all updated on my weight loss journey.
