My All American Movie

About the Movie:
What Freddie Steinmark wants most in the world is to play football. Deemed too small by the usual athletic standards, his father trains him hard, and Freddie brings a fight to the game that ultimately gets him noticed – by none other than legendary University of Texas coach Darrell Royal. Awarded a scholarship and a chance to play for the Longhorns, Freddie sets off to Austin determined to make the team. Alongside his old teammate Bobby Mitchell and new pal James Street they rise to the occassion, giving the Longhorns a real chance to turn the team around. But just when they’re reveling in the success of the season, Freddie suffers an injury that leads him to a shocking diagnosis and the biggest challenge he will ever face.

It is about more than just winning. Never giving up. The biggest injury he will ever face. I had an injury when I was 11. I was a very fast and a really excellent basketball player. After a game one night, a girl thought she had her car in drive bUT she had it in reverse (while I was in the back of my parents car putting the balls in the trunk) and punched the car. She ended up stuck to the back of my parents car. Needless to say I was still back ther. Because there was a hitch on the back of my parents car it stopped the car from going from bumper to bumper and slicing both of my legs off. The car was a volts wagon so back then the engine was in the back of the car. I was stuck between the the triangle of two cars and the bumper hitch. It saved my life and my leg, but it was cut all the way down to the bone on both sides and I had third degree burn from the eine and the car big stuck there until they could get it restarted and forward off of my leg. They didn’t think it would heal, grow or I would ever walk again. Praise God they were arong. I went through so much to get there but I did. I played ball again too. I may not have been as quick and got teased because of my scar but I did it. I am truly blessed.
