Christmas Candy Uses

We all love candy. And my favorite season for candy actually isn’t Halloween – it’s Christmas. I love the different types of candy that come out this time of year – from peppermint bark to candy canes. But other than just eating the candy by itself, there’s many other different ideas out there to use it all up! Here are just a few:

  • Cupcake toppings – You can use christmas candy to top chocolate cupcakes; crush up some candy canes and put them on top of chocolate or vanilla cupcakes with vanilla or chocolate frosting. I’ve done this myself and it is so yummy!
  • Like in the picture above, you can put Hershey Kisses on top of waffle pretzels and melt them and it makes a chocolate covered pretzel – delicious!
  • Mix some chopped up peppermint bark, or any other candy you like, and put it into cookie batter. You could also mix it into brownies to spruce an ordinary brownie recipe up!
  • Another way to use candy in cookies is to make cookie batter, then take miniature/fun size candy bars, like Snickers, and wrap the cookie batter around the candy bar. Makes for a nice little surprise in the center.
  • Make a festive wreath by taking any candy wrapped in green, red, and white or gold wrappers and glue them to a Styrofoam wreath form and hang it in your living room or kitchen to add some color to your home!
  • For a great gift idea, make some homemade hot chocolate mix, put it in a mason jar, and attach some candy canes to the outside so the gift receiver can swirl the candy cane in their hot chocolate to add some peppermint flavor!
