Gift registries for any occasion birthday, wedding, christening, baby and bridal showers are all the rage today. It used to be a little demanding of the hosts to set up a gift registry, as they would choose the items they would want to receive as opposed to just letting their guests pick the gifts themselves. But as time goes by, gift registries have become the norm for many occasions. Baby showers and gender reveals have taken us by storm, and guests bring push presents for the baby. Many parents set up a gift registry so that no two gifts are the same, so that the baby will have the things that they need upon their birth. Here is how you can set up a gift registry if you are due to give birth soon.
Research
You may go crazy at all the baby items that you think he or she baby will need from birth until at least they become a toddler. But you will be surprised to learn that there are a lot of baby items you can do without.
Give plenty of time
One of the first things that you have to take care of before your bridal shower or gender reveal party is the list of newborn baby gifts that you want to receive for your baby. Make a list of things that the baby will need and register it in the store of your choice or online. This way, you will give your guests ample time to buy them. There is nothing more annoying than having to shop last minute for a gift because your registry was set up late.
Contact your preferred store
Once you complete the list of things you want your baby to receive, contact your preferred baby products store and submit to them the items on our list. Also, ask them if your guests can purchase them online, as they may not find the time to shop for your baby’s gifts physically.
You can also set up more than one registry if some things are not available in one store. This way, you can also give your guests more shopping options and flexibility.
Relay your registry to your intended guests
Remember to inform them way ahead of time so that everything goes smoothly by the time the party rolls around. Provide them with shopping options if any. Keep in mind though that not all of your guests may be able to afford the things on your registry. If they buy something that is not on the registry, show your appreciation nonetheless. It is, after all, their presence and not their presents that is more important.
A gift registry is a practical solution to parties so that no two gifts are the same, and the host will not have a reason not to appreciate the gift or re-gift it because it is not what they have in mind. It also allows guests to make their purchases worthwhile because they are sure that their gifts will be useful for the baby.
