Gerard Butler, whose real name is Gerard James Butler was born on 13 November 1969 in Paisey, Scotland as a son of mother, Margaret Butler and father, Edward Butler. His father is a bookmarker. He has two siblings where he is the youngest one among them.

Before, he had dated many girls but currently, Butler is in a relationship with Morgan Brown who is an interior designer but they had not confirmed about their relationship yet.

Early Life and Education

Before, when he was just six months old, his family moved to Montreal and then, when he was just 18 months old, his family decided to live separately so that he moved with his mother in Scotland. After that, he also appeared at Scottish Youth Theatre. When he turned into the age of 16, he called his father to meet him where he had not met him before after their parents get separated. Butler started his film career, after he had been casted as Archie Brown on a British drama movie Mrs Brown in 1997. In the same year, he was also seen appearing on a spy movie Tomorrow Never Dies. After that, he was casted as Burke on a British American horror movie Tale of the Mummy which was directed by Russell Mulcahy in the year of 1998.

Further, in 1999, he was seen playing the role of Jacko on British movie Fast Food which was written as well as directed by Stewart Sugg. In that year, he was also seen appearing on a Scottish romantic drama One More Kiss as Sam and then, also seen as Yasha on a movie The Cherry Orchard. Later, in 2000, he was casted as Dracula/ Judas Iscariot on an American gothic horror movie Dracula.

Television Career

Butler started his television career, after he had been casted as Marty Claymore on a British comedy series The Young Person’s Guide to Becoming a Rock Star in 1998. In the same year, he was seen appearing as Peter on television movie Little While Lies Part 1 and also on Little While Lies Part 2. Likewise, he was seen playing the role as Gus on a series Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married. Further, he was casted on the movies like An Unsuitable Job for a Woman, Attila, The Jury and Saturday Night Live. Later, he will be seen providing his voice over the character Gaius Marcellus Nerva on an action adventure survival video game Ark: The Animated Series in 2022.

Later, in 2011, he had won Yoga Award for Worst Foreign Actor from his movies Law Abiding Citizen and The Bounty. In 2016, he also became able to win Golden Camera Award for Best International Actor.
