1SOLANA (SOL)
Solana has one of the fastest (up to 64,000 transactions per second) and cheapest blockchains in the system ($0.00025 transaction cost). It currently has the fifth-largest market cap and generated over a 12,000% value increase in 2021, despite the widespread pullback of digital coins in the latter part of the year.
The primary reason we expect Solana to rise at a fast rate this year is due to its utility. Projects involving nonfungible tokens (NFTs) and decentralized finance (DeFi) use Solana’s ecosystem. Its practical and fast scalability makes it a top choice for global adoption. That is, the coin has a bright future.
2POLKADOT (DOT)
Polkadot has a unique blockchain system that can be used to connect other blockchain networks. The asset is preferred for its interoperability protocol. With over 300 projects being built on its ecosystem, Polkadot is positioned to be one of the top digital currencies this year. In November, it reached an ATH of $55. The crypto bleed in December made it lose about $50 of this value. However, its unique relay chain for permissioned and non-permissioned networks is enough reason to bet on the coin.
3AVALANCHE (AVAX)
Avalanche can be used as a viable substitute for Ethereum. Based on market cap records, the coin is well on its way to being one of the top unstoppable cryptocurrencies. In 2021, it rose by close to 3.35%.
Avalanche has similar features to Solana. However, its developers have fine-tuned these features to be better than Solana’s. It has the fastest blockchain for a smart contract ecosystem. In less than two seconds, you can process two transactions on the blockchain. In November, it was selected by Deloitte to develop a disaster recovery platform. It also has an agreement with the web3 accelerator, Defi Alliance. Its ecosystem has over 100 other projects being developed, but this Deloitte deal could be the propelling force to take Avalanche upward at a faster rate.
4ETHEREUM (ETH)
Ethereum has the second largest crypto market cap in the world. The Ethereum blockchain boasts at least 30 cryptocurrencies. In the last year, this coin has risen significantly by 450%, and with the promise of an upgraded version, it is likely to remain unstoppable this year also.
The upgraded Ethereum, dubbed “ETH 2.0,” is scheduled to be launched in early 2023. The upgrade promises to remove the high transaction costs and the long period it takes to complete a transaction. With ETH 2.0, developers will have no need to switch to other blockchains for more scalable and less energy-intensive transactions.
5BITCOIN (BTC)
Bitcoin is the father of all digital assets. It has generated excellent profits since it launched in 2009. It has the highest market cap in the world and is still gaining traction at a reasonable rate. Although it does not have as much growth potential as newer coins, the coin is guaranteed to perform well. In 2021, there was about a 60% gain, and it is expected to reach new highs this year. Even if it doesn’t, it is still the best coin to hold over time.
