- Studio: We can call it the cheapest flats, where a student can live. Studio flats are small and such kind of apartments share a single room, where the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, everything is shared. If you find yourself comfortable then you can go to these flats. Its renal cost is also less.
- En-suite: En-suite means intended or connected and these are used when you are talking about bathrooms. - Shared apartments: These kinds of apartments can be shared by three or four persons, where separate rooms will be provided with attached bathrooms, but these apartments share a common kitchen and the dining room. Such apartments lower the cost of using utilities like, gas, water, electricity, etc.
- Dual occupancy studio: This dual occupancy studio is specially designed for couples.
Before selecting accommodation for rent, many aspects are important to be considered. To go for accommodation, you should keep in mind the following points:
- Budget: The first thing you need to consider is your budget. It is important to check your affordability for the accommodation, whether your pocket is allowing for a studio or a private room.
- Quality of the apartment: We spend most of our time in the apartment where we are living. So it is necessary to check that there should not be pests, leakage, or any kind of related problem. It’s a huge problem if there are pests or insects in the apartment. Before going for renting the apartment you can ask your landlord the pest control treatments to the apartment.
- Network requirement: Nowadays, everyone used their cell phones to make calls or using the internet facility. Most of the work is done via the internet, so it is important to have a good network where you are planning to have accommodation. You can check the network in every corner of the accommodation if you don’t find any problem then you can go for that apartment.
- Landlord’s behavior: You can ask the neighbours about the landlord’s behavior, if possible. His behavior can affect your state of mind if he is not as good as you might be thinking. You can ask your neighbours because they are living there for a long time, it might be possible that they know your landlord. If there will be any problem, they can guide you as well.
- Roommates: If you are deciding to live with your roommates, you have to ensure that he/she is having good habits, owner of good behavior, etc. A bad company can also affect your mind, so you should check these aspects.
- Neighbours and neighbourhood: Surrounding your apartment should be with decent people. You can ask about your neighbours and neighbourhood to your roommate or other persons. If you find any bad comment, you should not prefer that apartment.
- Preferences: If you are going to have a shared en-suite you will be going to share your room with a partner. It’s all about preferences. Different people have different opinions and preferences, their choices are also hidden in their preferences.
- Lease agreement: You should sign the agreement after reading carefully. There can be rules and regulations which may not be suitable for you. So read the agreement carefully and if there is any doubt, you can clear it out at the time of signing the agreement. Cost of using utility: Cost of utilities you have to pay such as gas, water, electricity, garbage, etc. These costs are besides the rental payment.
- Rules and regulations for having a pet: If you are a pet lover, you must have to check the rules and regulations for keeping a pet in the apartment.
- Check the apartment by visiting at night: It might be possible that the apartment which seems to be calm and nice, but it might be changed during the night. So, it is necessary to check the shortlisted apartments in the day time and at night too.
- Note down every impurity: It is important to note it down or takes the pictures in your phone of every impurity where you are planning to move in. Impurities such as, cracks, holes, etc. If you don’t do this it might be possible that you will have to pay for the damage which is not caused by you.
