#1 Inspiration Boards That Are Unorganized

When brides design inspiration boards that include their ideas, some can be extremely helpful. However, when the images are not following a theme in the same style and color palette, it can become difficult or confusing for a florist to know or understand what a bride really wants for her wedding. If your images are unorganized, and you think you need more help deciding on what to choose for your big day, rather discuss your concerns with your florist first. They can guide you in a better direction, providing you with a clearer theme so that you can complete your idea board with confidence.

#2 Fixed Ideas When It Comes To Certain Details

Everyone loves the brides that know exactly what they want. However, it can become challenging when the bride obsesses about specific details, like the “perfect” shade of pink, or exactly how open a peony should be. Even though most florists work hard to give their clients exactly what they want, nature includes unlimited variants, and specific shapes or shades that you have your heart set on, might not always be available. It is fine to voice what your preferences are, but also ease up a little and be open to other choices when you are not able to get exactly what you want.

The reason that you have never come across this hue or shade before, may have to do with that it doesn’t exist.

#4 Booking Your Consultation Too Early

It makes sense not to leave things to the very last minute. But at the same time, making plans too early is also not such as a great idea, either. There are a couple of important things you should know before you start talking about flowers. This will include your guest count (approximate), the venue, and the wedding date. Without these three things decided, the conversation will be extremely limited. There are also changing trends that come into play. We have met with many brides who were under the impression that it would be a good idea to start planning their flowers super early. From here, trends often change and they come up with a whole set of new ideas, and some even change their mind completely, which means they have to start from scratch anyway.

#5 Overlooking The Design Aesthetic Of The Florist

While most florists have the skills to accommodate many different styles, most designers usually have a certain type of aesthetic. You need to ensure that the aesthetic you choose from a florist is matching up to what you have in mind. Research past work that the florist in Miami Beach has done, to get an idea of their overall abilities. For instance, if you like an organic, loose bouquet, avoid meeting with a florist that only shows photos of rounder, tight designs.
