Carpet Cleaning Made Easy

Sharing is caring!

With it almost a new year (how in the world did 2013 go by so fast?!) a lot of us are thinking about organization and cleaning. We want a fresh start. I thought I would bring you a few carpet cleaning tips to help you out, since that is a big issue for me, especially having carpets again!

  • You should vacuum your carpets with a cordless vacuum cleaner at least once a week, and more often in heavy-traffic areas, such as the living room and the front room where you walk in at.
  • To help fight odors when vacuuming, add some baking soda to the vacuum bag.
  • Also, I add some baking soda about once a month right onto the floor of heavy-traffic areas and let it sit for about 5 minutes before vacuuming to help get it a little cleaner.
  • If you just don’t have the time, you can always hire a carpet cleaning company, like Green Choice carpet cleaning. You’ll save the time while still getting your vacuum nice and clean.
  • For spills throughout the year, always attend to them quickly. I always blot the area and try to get as much of the spill up as possible with a paper towel or bath towel. Make sure not to rub the area – that can make it worse.
  • If you’re going to use a new cleaning solution that you haven’t used before, make sure to use it first in a spot that’s not very well seen to make sure that it won’t discolor the carpet. Trust me, I’ve been through this one before. 🙂

What other tips do you have for carpet cleaning?
