These DIY Wedding Signs are a thoughtful way to help the newlyweds celebrate their special day! Most couples register at several locations for wedding gifts and while it is great to get things off of a registry, it is also really fun to make special and personalized wedding gifts! This Mr. & Mrs. wedding gift idea was simple to make and I love how it turned out. It was inexpensive yet is personalized in the colors the bride and groom plan to decorate their future home together. I love the idea of giving something handmade that I know will not be a duplicate gift on their special day!

- cording – I used paracord
- fabric/craft glue
- pencil
Sargent Art 90-2029 Stretched Burlap Canvas, 12 x 16Paracord Planet 550 Cord Type III 7 Strand Paracord 50 Foot Hank – BlackElmer’s Craft Bond Fabric and Paper Glue, 4-Ounce, ClearDixon Ticonderoga Wood-Cased 2HB Pencils, Pre-Sharpened, Box of 30, Yellow (13830)
Instructions:Using a pencil, lightly sketch the words onto each canvas. I found the heart symbol for “&” online and thought it was just perfect for this gift! After the letters and symbol are sketched onto the canvas, lay the cord out over the lettering and trim to the appropriate length. Depending on the type of cord you use, you may need to melt the ends just a little to keep them from unraveling. From here forward, you will want to finish each sign before starting the next. Trace the pencil line with your fabric/craft glue and carefully press the cord into the glue. Work quickly as to set the cord before the glue begins to dry. After the cord is set into the glue, lay the sign aside to dry completely.Complete the other signs using the same steps. When all 3 signs are dry they are ready to wrap and give away. This gift will be beautiful displayed on a shelf with photos from the couple’s special day. You could also place these signs into photo frames, removing the glass, for something that could be hung on the wall. It is such a great gift idea and was fun and affordable to create!
I’m a 20-something stay-at-home mother and wife. I have an amazing husband, a beautiful daughter, two loving dogs, and a lazy cat. I wouldn’t change my life for anything! I love to read, listen to music, cook and blog!
I live this idea. It’s personal with a touch of love. Sometimes we all just get in a hurry and forget it’s the homemade gifts that mean so much more and yours turned out supet
