What is Endometriosis? It can be defined as an irregular growth of endometrial cells inside a woman’s uterus. It’s painful to live with and can affect a person’s reproductive abilities.
If you’re suffering from this problem, there are ways to help combat the pain symptoms. A popular treatment as of late is Ayurveda. Ayurveda is a healing system that was developed in India well over three-thousand years ago.
There’s no main goal in the treatments, but it can be used to target specific health problems such as endometriosis. Check out this guide to learn more about what Ayurveda is and how putting it into practice can help you.
What Is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is a treatment method that was created with the idea that healing and wellness are dependent on the balance between body, mind, and spirit.
The purpose is to keep a person in proper health. The people who practice this healing method believe that people are made up of five essential elements. These elements are air, water, fire, earth, and space.
Each one of these elements is associated with one of three different body types. These body types are better known and doshas. It’s thought that each of the doshas is responsible for controlling a specific bodily function.
How to Get Started?
To get started with Ayurveda, you first have to identify your body type. These body types are Vatta, which is linked to space and air, Pitta related to fire and water, and Kapha, which is associated with water and earth.
There are several quizzes you can take online that will tell you which body type you fall into. Once you figure out the one you are, you can then plan an endometriosis treatment routine around it.
Create a Daily Routine
For Ayurveda to work, you have to abide by a strict morning, afternoon, and night schedule. We’ll give you an example of what your routine should sort of look like.
Get up as soon as you can in the morning and start your day off with a cup of lemon water instead of the coffee you usually reach for. Meditate and get your body up and active. After that, you’re free to have a light breakfast.
Around noon, go ahead, have a big lunch. Once you’ve finished your meal, get up and go for a walk to help your body digest it.
When evening hits, turn off the TV and start settling down. Read a book but put your devices away, and get to bed by 10 pm.
Using Herbs
On top of creating a routine, some herbs are used in Ayurveda. The most popular ones are curcumin and ashwagandha.
Both can help manage inflammation and stress in the body and ease endometriosis symptoms.
