Garlic for Sore Throat is A Natural Cold Remedy

Sharing is caring!

Garlic for Sore Throat is considered the world’s most common natural cure for colds. Garlic was used by the ancient Chinese as a cure for many ailments, and from the early Chinese to today, garlic is proving to be a potent remedy for curing various respiratory ailments. Garlic is considered one of nature’s most powerful antibiotics to kill bacteria in the air and its ability to loosen congested mucus. It is believed that the substance that makes garlic so efficient in healing respiratory conditions is allicin, a sulfur compound that gives garlic its antiseptic property.

SupaGarlic contains allicin, and some research even suggests that it has more allicin than wine has than any other known natural substance. Wine is believed to have the maximum amount of allicin, and whole garlic cloves contain only trace amounts. This is the reason why garlic is such an effective cure for sore throats. Allicin can penetrate through the mucus membranes to reach the bloodstream, so it is very effective in treating cough and cold symptoms.

Garlic is believed to possess properties that can strengthen the immune system, thus boosting the body’s capability to fight against various diseases. You can apply garlic to your sore throat three times a day, once during morning, mid-afternoon, and at night. When you use garlic for cough and cold prevention, it would be better to make sure that you crush the fresh leaves using a mortar and pestle. Before you sleep, cover the affected area with gauze or an adhesive bandage so that the allicin will not seep out during your sleep.

Cinnamon is also a remedy for sore throat and cold problems. You need to add about one teaspoon of cinnamon into a cup of warm water. Once the ingredients are blended, you can drink the mixture. If you do not like the taste of cinnamon in warm water, you can instead drink the juice, which is prepared by boiling cinnamon in a cup of hot water. It is advisable to consume cinnamon in the evening because when the body is at its most vulnerable, it is most helpful in boosting the immune system.

If you are suffering from a cough due to a viral respiratory infection, you can take three garlic cloves and mix them with a teaspoon of honey. The honey should be cooled slightly before you mix it with a glass of water. The antibacterial properties of honey will kill the viruses responsible for causing a cold or cough, so this treatment is considered a very efficient remedy.

Garlic and honey are ideal for boosting the immune system, so if you want to keep your immune system intact, you should include them in your diet regularly. The best way to make this healthy is to eat raw fruits and vegetables. Eating raw fruits and vegetables will ensure that you get all the vitamins and nutrients they contain, and they are most effective when they are eaten fresh. For optimum benefit, you should ideally eat six small meals a day so you won’t get hungry throughout the day. If you are overweight, you should try to lose some weight before including vitamin c and garlic in your diet.
