Now that Lent is here, it’s officially “fish season.” Fish frys are all over our our city. And while some nice, deep fried fish is delicious – it’s not the most healthy thing ever. Since my husband, Miles, and I are trying to lose weight and get healthier, we have been looking for healthier options. Of course one of those things we’ve been enjoying more, are salads. A plain old salad, though, gets really boring. Thankfully Gorton’s has some great new grilled products so we can take our salads to the next level and still participate in Lent!
Gorton’s new Grilled Fillets are made with all natural ingredients and are gluten free! Each fillet is between 80-100 calories, depending on the flavor that you get, so you know you’re getting a lower calorie fillet that still has great flavor! The flavors available are:
- Cajun Grilled
- Garlic Butter
- Italian Herb
- Lemon Butter
- Lemon Pepper
- Salmon: Classic Grilled
- Salmon: Lemon Butter
With all of these great flavors, I am sure you will be able to find a flavor that you will enjoy! These new Grilled Fillets are such a great addition to Gorton’s entire line of products.
Like I mentioned before, we have been trying to eat healthier. We used the smoked garlic butter Grilled Fillets in a salad to add some extra flavor! Here’s our simple recipe!
Grilled Garlic Butter Fish Salad
Ingredients:
- Salad (Any Mix)
- Gorton’s Grilled Fillets in Garlic Butter
- Choice of Dressing (We Used Lite Italian)
Follow the directions on the Gorton’s Grilled Fillets to bake them. When they are done, chop the fillets up. Put your salad mix in a bowl, top with some salad dressing, and then the fish! Enjoy! 🙂
This salad makes a great lunch or dinner meal, so you can enjoy this anytime!
Which Gorton’s Grilled Fillet flavor are you most excied to try out?
I’m a 20-something stay-at-home mother and wife. I have an amazing husband, a beautiful daughter, two loving dogs, and a lazy cat. I wouldn’t change my life for anything! I love to read, listen to music, cook and blog!
I love healthy and quick meals and this definitely is both. I love their grilled fish, and on a salad sounds delicious.
I love that they have gluten free varieties too! 🙂 Your salad looks yummy!
We are always looking for new recipes to try during Lent. My kids love fish maybe putting it on salad would make them love that too! Great idea for Gortons!
The Garlic Butter is my favorite. They make great toppers for a salad or tucked in a pita pocket too!
I love a good fish sandwich! I will have to grab some Gordons next time i am at the store!
