Did you know that more than one in five children, including more than one in four Latino children, in the United States do not know where their next meal is coming from? That’s more than 16 million children. This is way too many. Even children who experience intermitten struggles with hunger may suffer serious, long-term consequences with their health, well-being and educational achievements.
This is absolutely unacceptable.
Thankfully, P&G and ConAgra Foods have partnered up to help donate up to 7 million meals through the Child Hunger Ends Here campaign. There are several ways that you can help out!
The first way is to purchase participating ConAgra Foods and P&G products and then entering the 8-digit code at ChildHungerEndsHere.com between now and August 2014. ConAgra Foods or P&G will then donate the monetary equivalent of one meal to Feeding America.
- Luckily Meijer has made this even easier to do, thanks to their mPerks savings! There are many products on sale that have the Child Hunger Ends Here code entries, including Banquet Homestyle Pakes ($2.99), 4-Pack Snack Pack (Buy 5, Save $1), Hunt’s Tomato Sauce (15 oz.) and Tomato Paste (12 oz.) are 4 for $5, Lofthouse Cookies are $0.75 off, and a few more. There really is no excuse not to take advantage of this! (You have to be an mPerks Member to enjoy this deals.) (P.S. Chef Boyardee Easy Open Lids are coming back! Look for the Chef Easy Open Lids beginning to appear on shelf at Meijer this month!)

Lastly, ConAgra Foods is donating 50,000 meals to community food banks on behalf of Meijer, to show their appreciation for the fantastic partnership to help end child hunger! I know food banks are always looking for donations, so please donate if you have the means to!
No child should ever have to go hungry. So I am going to be buying a few of the great deals going on at Meijer and inputting those codes to help out. You can make a delicious meal with the Hunt’s Tomato Sauce and some pasta, as well as the Snack Packs. Stay on the look out for a recipe using those Snack Packs. 🙂
