I am a complete sucker for Tootsie Rolls. They are my favorite candy, ever. When I was younger, my dad and I used to get into arguments over who got the last Tootsie Roll. That is why I am super excited to share this homemade Tootsie Roll recipe with you today! You are sure to enjoy these just as much as the original, if not more! 🙂
Homemade Candy
I’m a 20-something stay-at-home mother and wife. I have an amazing husband, a beautiful daughter, two loving dogs, and a lazy cat. I wouldn’t change my life for anything! I love to read, listen to music, cook and blog!

would I use regular milk choc. chips or should it be the choc. discs that I melt to cover my candies. I know one has more wax and sits up better than the other, that’s why I ask.
thanks.
Paige
What a great question, Paige! You can use either, by the discs do have a more firm consistency.
Have fun making these delicious tootsie rolls!
Thinking about making this for a bake sale. Would like to know what the shelf life is and does it need to be kept in fridge.
What a great idea, I love tootsie rolls! I can’t wait to try them! I’m putting together a list of things to make as Christmas gifts on my blog and was wondering if you’d be okay with me including a picture with a link to your article. Thanks!
Jessica, thank you so much for your kind comment! I would love for you to include it in your Christmas gifts post! Thanks again! 🙂
Thank you!
How easy is this! Thank you so much for sharing. I wrote down the recipe, and i will be making these.
I didn’t even know there were recipes for these. These look great! I love that you can make them any size as well.
My son loves tootsie rolls and I love this simple recipe. We are making them now and wondering the time it takes to set or harden before we cut and wrap. Guess we’ll find out and let you know. Thanks for posting this!
Looking forward to making them. !!
