How To Creatively Celebrate Valentine’s Day

Sharing is caring!

V-Day

A new year has begun. This means a whole new twelve months including all of the holidays that we enjoy. Both new months and holidays await us with open arms again. As February is approaching, Valentine’s Day is the next most talked about holiday. Most people don’t want to celebrate this holiday because it merely focuses on couples and love. Some even say it’s a made-up holiday so chocolate and flower sales will flourish. This maybe so, however, single or not, romantic or cynical, Valentine’s Day embodies something new and fresh. So whether or not it is a holiday you should enjoy and nothing should hinder you from having a little fun on February 14th.

When Valentine’s Day arrives, what is mostly bought or seen in stores are hearts. You see them on mugs, plates, cookies or as a cookie, stationery, and on clothes. So why not get into the most romantic day of the year by looking for something more spring or fun related? Valentine’s Day may include all things cute, pink and heart-filled, but it can also include time to be with and appreciate dear friends and relatives. By giving and sharing time with the people you love, Valentine’s Day will be more pleasurable than before. Think about fun activities you can do with loved ones, like experiencing a fun trip to Universal Studios for a day! Also, if budget is an issue, there are always great online coupons codes from Sidepon.com available.

Go out with friends – Yes, even if you are single do not stay home and wallow in self pity. Valentine’s Day after all is just another day of the year. Single or not, grab a friend or two and head on out. Have fun eating appetizers and chatting about life, work, and yes even love.

Buy seasonal attire – Even just for one day, wearing PJ pants with little colorful hearts or fluffy pink slippers not only brings a pop of color into colder and foggier February days but it will certainly brighten everyone’s day. If you are not a lover of the color pink, try regular red or a bright red. Both of these colors work well as nail polish or as incorporating fun accessories into your daily wardrobe, such as a soft scarf that’s needed when it’s windy.

Listen to your favorite music – Skip the romantic songs, unless you are into romantic music. Listen to what makes you dance, run fast, or just smile. It will not only brighten your mind but it will very much make your day more fun from the start.

Stay true to yourself – Don’t ignore couples if they are your friends, but don’t think about them too much either. Go out, walk around, work out, watch a movie or even make fun of this holiday. Stay true to yourself and enjoy what you have, even if you are alone without friends or are single. You have an entire life to love and maybe even pets to cuddle up with, so enjoy the little things and smile on this day. Within less than 24 hours it will be over considering you are sleeping at night. And yes, if you feel like laughing please feel free to let it all out.

In the end, if nothing else helps, buy flowers for yourself and pretend someone mysterious sent them to you. It may make your co-workers, friends or relatives jealous. If not, those flowers and maybe even the chocolates will make you happy and that is all that matters.

Valentine’s Day may not be a holiday single people look forward to, but there are so many little things and activities to consider that will help you have fun on a day you may or may not look forward to. It might be a holiday most sees as something that’s created to boost chocolate and flower sales, but in the end it is just another day out of 365 days that allows us to feel girly, cranky, and loved. Plus, it also helps us look forward to spring, which is just around the corner.
