How to Fit in Exercise When you Have Kids

Sharing is caring!

Although being a mom takes up a lot of your time, getting in a regular workout is not mission impossible. Sometimes you have to get a little creative to make it work, but there are plenty of ways to sneak in exercise every day. Although many parents, especially moms, will admit that they feel guilty taking time away from their children by exercising, remember that a happier and healthier, you will actually benefit them in the long run. So, how can you fit in your daily exercise when you have kids? Check out the following options below.

Short Workout Videos

From Instagram Live to streaming classes, there are plenty of ways to find online workouts to do at home. The problem is finding a time to fit it all in. With a 10-minute workout, you can easily take a short break from mom duties to get a sweat on. In fact, a solid 10-minute workout is often all you need to successfully engage your muscles and your body.

At-Home Workouts

By doing a workout at home, you can make the most of that little time in the mornings, that spare hour in the evenings, or even during your kid’s naptime. If you haven’t got any exercise equipment at home, simple exercises like wall squats and crunches can still deliver excellent results.

These at-home exercises are good building blocks for creating a routine that works for you. If you’re finding it hard to stay motivated by using just your body weight to work out, invest in some at-home workout equipment to bring the gym into your home. You can also get a wobble balance board for your at-home workout sessions.

Jogging Strollers

Running is an excellent form of cardio and can be done as quickly or as slowly as you like. Since ten minutes of running can burn more calories than ten minutes of weightlifting, this form of exercise is excellent to get you back into shape.

If you want to go running for longer, or even attempt hiking, consider buying a jogging stroller and take your kid with you on your running adventure. You don’t have to worry about what they’re up to at home if they’re with you in the stroller. Another bonus of jogging strollers is that kids often end up taking a nap in them, which means that you can use that
