How To Keep Trainers Spotless

Sharing is caring!

Most fashionistas always have a pair of Jordan 1s in their wardrobe. However, they are hard to keep clean. Well, a lot of experts have come forward to share the best methods for keeping trainers fresh and clean, regardless of how long you have had them.

It starts with storage, exposure to elements such as the sun and how to avoid discoloration and damage. Note that, when you are cleaning your trainers, you can use a toothbrush, vinegar, gentle shampoo. Never wash your trainers in the washing machine.

1. Store Your Shoes In The Dark

Yes, cleaning your trainers is useful but you need to avoid staining and discoloration in the first place. Some of the discoloration in your favorite pair of trainers is caused by prolonged UV exposure. Therefore, you need to store your trainers in a cool and dry place.

2. Use A Splash Of Vinegar

Yes, you can use specially-made wipes and other cleaning tools to clean your trainers. However, white vinegar works the same way when it comes to keeping your trainers clean. Dip a washcloth in vinegar before rubbing it on the affected area. Small stains should disappear instantly.

3. Clean With A Toothbrush

Toothbrushes are perfect for tackling areas that are hard to reach when cleaning your trainers. The bristles can remove the gunk and dirt that often gathers between the tongue or around the laces.

4. Shampoo Oil Stains

Oil is often tricky to handle but not hard to remove. Instead of using warm water and soap, you should find a gentle shampoo to use on the stain.

5. Dilute Bleach Before Using

Yes, you can use bleach on your trainers but make sure it is diluted. You should mix at least one part bleach to five parts of water. Using more bleach will turn the white fabric yellow leading to terrible discoloration. When cleaning, you should dip a toothbrush into the diluted bleach solution and scrub gently. Once you are done, you should rinse with warm water.

Thanks to these useful cleaning and storage tips, your trainers should always look as good as new!
