How to Plan a Friends Getaway?

Sharing is caring!

Life can get so busy that sometimes that it’s hard to keep up with your friends, and it could be weeks or months before you have a moment to call them and finally have a catch-up. It can be even more challenging to find the time to go and grab coffee or dinner with them so you can meet in person, especially if you all have conflicting schedules. This is why organizing a group holiday with your friends is such a great idea, as it’s the perfect excuse for you all to take a vacation and spend some quality time together. If you’ve been missing your best buddies lately, here are a few tips on how to plan a friends’ getaway.

Determine the Budget

It’s important that no one in the group feels as though they can’t afford to go away with you, or that they’re pressured into paying more for the holiday than they’d like to. To ensure that no one is left with financial concerns as a result of your trip, determine a budget that everyone is comfortable with before you even start looking at destinations. This way, no one gets left out or has to feel awkward about money.

Vote on the Destination

When you have settled on a spending limit for your getaway, you can then start to think about where you’d all like to go. Allow everyone the opportunity to make suggestions, but try to think of places that will be able to cater to what you’re looking for from your break. For example, if you want a pamper weekend perhaps choose somewhere with a spa nearby and plenty of opportunities for a bit of retail therapy? Or, would you all prefer to have a more adventurous getaway and get a cabin on the mountainside to go hiking? Or you would like to stay at a hotel, play some card games, and smoke organic hemp flower to ease tension. When the suggestions have been made, take a vote on them to decide where the majority of you (if not all) want to end up.

Decide on What to Do

Even if you’re looking to go away and relax for most of your trip, it’s still a good idea to arrange some kind of entertainment for you all, whether that’s a day excursion to some local sights, or booking into a restaurant for an evening meal. Just like you all suggested a destination, allow everyone in the group to share one activity they would like to do while you’re away together, and make sure you do all of those ideas on the list. If you’re unsure about what to do in the local area, use travel sites such as Mr Hudson Explores for tips and guides on what to do.

Take Turns to Drive

Finally, if you’re going to be driving to your destination or using a car while you’re there, take it in turns to drive so someone isn’t always the designated driver and can have a break. You should also do this if you’re staying in a rented holiday home and are going to be dining in on most nights. It’s not fair to leave all of the meal preparation to one or two people, so make sure no one ends up feeling like the waiting staff!

Getting away for some quality time with close friends is a great way to reinforce those relationships and have some fun. Use these tips to plan your next trip to make sure everyone feels included and has a good time.
