Whether it’s your child’s first, third or thirtieth birthday, each year is special. When you’re planning a birthday party for your little one, it can be hard to think of great ideas for the event. Luckily, it doesn’t take much to make the day memorable for your tyke.

Celebrate the Numbers

Each birthday is special. Whether it’s your child’s first or third birthday, that number is important. You’re celebrating another year in this world, and that is truly something to be thankful for. A great way to celebrate the event is to use the number of the birthday in your decorations. For example, for a first birthday, you could put the number one all over the house. This can come in the form of banners on the walls, of a candle on the cake or even the shape of the invitations. For a third birthday, you could celebrate the event by doing everything in threes. For example, instead of a cake, you could give three mini cupcakes to all of the party-goers. Or, you could cook three different kinds of hot dogs for the kids to choose from, such as turkey dogs, traditional hot dogs or bratwurst. Use Your Kid’s Interests

Each child is special, including babies who are just turning 1. Their personalities have already begun to show up, and they even have favourite foods and toys. Because of this, you can decorate her birthday according to her interests. If your daughter loves everything Barbie, a good cake design is the Barbie dress cake. This features a real Barbie doll with a dress made of cake. After all the festivities, your daughter can keep the Barbie as a present. Some kids even have a favorite color. If your son loves orange, then you can plan the theme and invitations around that color. This will make him feel as though he is appreciated and noticed.

Do Something Different

In order to create a birthday, they’ll remember, try something a little different. For instance, you could create a birthday party with a picnic theme. All of the guests could eat on a blanket smoothed out in the backyard. Picnic food could be served and you could give away little picnic themed prizes. For 3-year-old children, you could have an educational video game party. Not all video games are full of violence. Some are quite good for kids and they help them learn. Pick up a few inexpensive kids’ educational video game systems and set them up on different televisions in the house. Encourage friendly competition and give prizes to the winners.
