LeapFrog 20 20 Reading ChallengeReading is one of the most important things in life, especially for children. I’m so lucky that we instilled a love of reading in our daughter, Riley, from the time she was born and she loves to read now at almost 4 years of age. Did you know that March is National Reading Month? I have a great challenge to let you all know about – the 20/20 Reading Challenge.

LeapFrog has partnered with Kristi Yamaguchi’s non-profit Always Dream Foundation to donate 20 books to the foundation’s under-served classrooms for every pledge received for the 20/20 challenge. It’s sad that there are so many schools that are unable to provide books for their children, so that’s where you can help out. By pledging to read just 20 minutes each day with your child in March, LeapFrog will be giving 20 children’s books, up to $5 million worth, to those classrooms in need. It’s a win-win for everyone!“Research has shown that children who were read to at least three times a week by a family member were almost twice as likely to score in the top 25 percent in reading compared to children who were read to less than three times a week,” says Kristi Yamaguchi. Even if your child cannot read yet because they are too young, LeapFrog has a great article on 6 skills to prepare your young child for reading. I also love this helpful guide LeapFrog and KinderCare hae made to make the most of reading time with your child.
