Kitchen decor is so hard to find at affordable prices and most things are not very unique. This sweet little dry erase menu is great kitchen decor whether you decide to hang it or place it on the counter. This menu is inexpensive and easy to make which is a nice bonus! You can create your menu to match your style and your other kitchen decor .
Kitchen Decor – Easy Dry Erase Menu
Supplies:
- inexpensive 8″ x 10″ frame (the one I used was $1 from the dollar store)
- cardboard cut to 8″ x 10″ (this could even be a cereal box scrap)
- fabric or scrapbook paper cut to 8″ x 10″
- spray adhesive
- scrapbook sticker letters
- 1 sheet of lined paper
Instructions:
Begin by taking the picture frame apart. Clean the glass well, inside and out. Set pieces aside.
Carefully spray the 8″ x 10″ piece of cardboard with the spray adhesive. You will want to do this in a ventilated area and on a covered work surface as there is a significant amount of over spray. Smooth the piece of fabric or scrapbook paper onto the cardboard, working quickly before the adhesive dries. Set aside the covered cardboard to dry.
Lay a sheet of lined paper underneath the clean picture frame glass to use as a guide for placing the scrapbook sticker letters. You can mark the paper with guidelines to help place the MENU and the days of the week to insure they are evenly spaced and straight. Carefully place letters onto the outside of the glass.
Once the covered cardboard has dried, reassemble the frame. The glass will go into the frame with the sticker letters facing out. Place the covered cardboard behind and then the picture frame backer and your new kitchen decor is finished.
Your dry erase menu is ready to use and can be hung on the wall or placed on the counter. Use a dry erase marker to add the menu for each day of the week!
This project costs less than $5 to make and is a great piece of kitchen decor. You can even create seasonal inserts with different fabrics or papers to use for holidays and get togethers!
I’m a 20-something stay-at-home mother and wife. I have an amazing husband, a beautiful daughter, two loving dogs, and a lazy cat. I wouldn’t change my life for anything! I love to read, listen to music, cook and blog!
Super cute! I bet it really helps when you have a big family always asking whats for dinner!
Love this idea! There are so many possibilities with frame + fabric combos too 🙂
Awesome dry erase menu board! I think we could use one as a shopping list.. or a shopping wish list as the kids call it (I don’t buy everything they put on the list)!
I love the print you used!
Awesome idea for the kitchen!
We made these and they work great!
I used to have something similar until it broke, but this one is super cute!
Using the lined notebook paper under the glass is a great suggestion! So simple, but so clever!
What a cool idea, love the print design!
I’m glad you like it! 🙂
