Making Meaningful Lifestyle Changes in 2021

No doubt 2020 will go down in history as one of the worst years for many American families. Juggling all of the schooling for the kids, working remotely, and worrying about the safety of your loved ones has been draining. While difficult at times, there are positive takeaways from the experience.

Embrace Each Day

There are no guarantees on how long you will exist. Make the most of each day. Wake with a smile regardless of previous days’ events. Have a self-talk internally daily that you’re going to enjoy peace and happiness.

Financial Security

Too many people experienced a huge financial setback during the COVID-19 lockdown. In the future, it’s essential to have a nest egg. Sock away money from each paycheck making certain that you have a minimum of three months worth of bills saved. Think about opening a new checking account with a credit union like Mission Fed and ask about their platinum debit card. Finding a bank that works for you is incredibly helpful.

Natural Wake Up

As a kid, you woke from your slumber naturally. You were well-rested and eager to start your day. Alarm clocks became the norm during college years and probably remained a part of your daily routine ever since. Just as in your youth you woke up without an unexpected symphony of annoying sounds, you can do the same today.

Your body develops sleep habits and after practice, wake up at the same time each day minus the alarm clock. This will help you start your day without the annoying buzz of an alarm.

Get Up and Move

Getting in shape is another way to make sure you start each day well. The good news is that if you’re not into working out in a gym, there are other ways to trim the fat. Dancing, bike riding and a brisk walk are a few examples of movements that will transform pockets of fat into muscle mass. As a bonus, any type of physical exercise releases endorphins, as referred to as happy hormones, that leave you feeling good at the end of each session.

Take a Time Out

Unfortunately, many people have a to-do list that rolls out to the floor. The constant on the go cycle can cause a mental burn out leaving you emotionally drained. Thankfully, you can recharge the mind by shutting down 10 to 15 minutes daily.

Meditation creates a natural calming of the mind allowing you to dismiss racing thoughts and awake feeling refreshed and anxiety-free.

Healthy Diet
