Is Your friend’s wedding coming soon? You will be super excited. Not just because you want to have some fun there but also due to your photography skills. He will expect you to present him with a mind-blowing wedding photo album after the wedding. As an amateur photographer, taking best clicks on your friends and the family wedding is a common scenario. It’s the point from where you learn the most.

As people expect you to act like a PRO, it’s normal to feel overwhelmed while delivering the best. No worries, here are some tips for wedding photography. Follow them and rock your friend’s wedding event like a Rock STAR.

Make a List of The Best Shots

As you will have to take photos and attend the wedding, it is like there are too many things to do simultaneously. Your mind will be occupied, so you may miss some big shots like where grandma presents a special gift to the newlywed or where a flower girl scatters flower petals when the bride walks down the aisle.

Instead of feeling bad later, you need to pre-plan some shots in your mind. Walk through the wedding day and start writing about the best places to take shots. Create the must-have photos and never to miss shot list. Keep it in your pocket or take a picture and save it on your mobile. Once your mind feels stuck, open it and get help.

Scout the Location

Take a complete tour of the wedding venue and explore every single location. Scouting the location helps you get familiar with the best places to take a couple of shots and explore some untapped and unusual areas. Also, do some test shots. You have to do product photography there, take e cake with you and place it on the center table. Get its best angle and see what angle brings the best click.

Wedding day is a busy day; you won’t have time to test it all. So, you better do all the testing one day before.

Preparation is the Key to Successful Shots

You should be well-prepared for the wedding event. It means preparing yourself and also your gadgets and gear. Charge the battery. Keep two bags- one is handy and another one with all the lenses, camera, props, and other accessories. One camera isn’t enough. Get at least two. In the same manner, get the battery back up and flashlights. Also, don’t miss rehearsal dinner because it’s where you get to know other important people of the ceremony, and you will get a chance to have some test shots before actual wedding photography.

Capture Small Details

Wedding venues have tiny details like table settings, menus, flowers, etc. You should capture them as well. The best product photography is one where you capture images of rings, back of dresses, and shoes.  Try to add an extra dimension to the photo album. The purpose of taking cute clicks is to tell the story of an entire event. If you don’t know how to take the best shots of small details, you can get inspiration from magazines.

Focus on Emotions

Everyone is happy at the wedding, but expressions are different. As an amateur photographer, you should try different kinds of clicks. It’s crucial to take portrait photos of couples and group photos of family members. However, you need to add one extra detail in the wedding photo album and add life to the story with expression photography

It’s a kind of picture that has a human being or product, and when you look at this picture, you feel some emotions of sadness, joy, anger, etc. As it’s wedding photographs, you need to focus on emotions like joy, excitement, laughs, tears, etc. There will be some moments where the bride and groom have an eye connection or where parents will have tears of joy. Don’t miss them.
