Sharing is caring!

There are plenty of things to consider and think of when moving. It is easy to forget everything during the process. Thankfully, there are dozens of excellent apps to help organize a move and ensure it goes off without a hitch. Here are a few of the top apps built to help you move:

1. Google Keep

Google Keep is available for both Android and iPhone users. It is also available to use with a web browser on an internet-connected computer. This moving planner app is a list management application, allowing its users to create lists and keep everything organized in a move. Instead of writing “kitchen decor, some living room, and misc,” with a sharpie on each box, you can just number the box, and use Google Keep to itemize every item or group of items in every box.

The best part about Keep is that it’s free to use and your information is stored in the Cloud so you’ll never lose an item you packed, even if that box makes its way to the attic.

2. Dolly

Dolly is a unique concept as far as moving apps go. This app is available for both iOS and Android. The download itself is free, but there are fees associated with the services you book. Dolly specializes in helping you make short moves, such as from one apartment to another. It helps movers find people in the area with trucks or other moving capabilities to help them move a few boxes or larger pieces of furniture. This can cut down the number of trips you need to make between your current residence and your new residence.

3. Unpakt

Cleaning, packing, and managing a move are hard enough tasks on their own without throwing in finding the best rates on moving companies or vehicle rentals. Enter Unpakt. This free-to-download app allows movers to quickly compare rates and also provides offers from area moving companies, letting them find the best rates on moving resources. The app can also help you select the right level of services from providers based on the size of your current residence.

4. Sortly

Sortly is another great organization and list-making tool for movers. Similar to Google Keep, Sortly allows its users to categorize items into a wide array of categories. It’s an organization enthusiasts dream-come-true and an excellent tool for movers. Movers can even take photos of items that are going into a box and add that photo to the list for easy and fast reference.

The Sortly app is available for both popular mobile operating systems and is available with a free and paid version. The free version allows users to create one custom field and 100 entries. The subscription offered gives its users more powerful tools such as QR Code label generation that users can scan to see what’s in the box. The subscription also offers additional list customization capabilities.

Moving is a big job whether you’re moving from one studio apartment to another or moving from a house. These four great moving apps can help you stay organized and find the best moving services available near you.
