The Problems of Child Obesity and How You Can Address It

Australians have always been known throughout the world as a very outdoors kind of people and we always take every opportunity that we can to get out into the sunshine and to become active. Many people regard this as a common stereotype but generally speaking there is a lot of truth behind it. Unfortunately, over the past 10 to 15 years, digital technology has taken a huge leap and now we have many devices to keep our minds occupied throughout the day. We have gotten into many bad habits and we spend literally hours on our smart phones every single day without really learning anything new. We have passed these bad habits onto our children and now it’s almost impossible to get your kid to go outside as they are always playing video games.

This has led to an endemic of child obesity and children’s health is suffering as a direct result. These children are all leading very sedentary lifestyles and parents are no longer making the kids go outside and play to improve upon their social skills and to burn off all those calories. The common excuse is that parents can’t find an alternative to a smartphone that allows kids to play videogames all day, but the answer is here and it comes in the form of trampolines from Web and Warehouse. I would defy any kid to ignore a trampoline sitting in the front garden no matter how good or exciting the videogame is. If you purchase one of these devices and you set it up in your garden, then your children will get to enjoy the following benefits.

Increased energy levels

It’s likely that your kids have been constantly complaining that they’re tired all the time, they don’t have any energy to do anything and their health and wellness is compromised. This is the excuse that they give every single time when you ask them to go outside and play or ask them if they would like to go for a walk. In order to address these lowered energy levels, jumping up and down on a trampoline provides them with the exercise that they need and gives them an energy boost.

Improves emotional well-being

As a parent, you really do need to ask yourself if your children are looking at the right kinds of things on the Internet when you hand them your smartphone. You would never know that they are being bullied online or that they have been directly affected and influenced by what they see there. It’s likely that their emotional well-being has taken a hit due to the amount of time that they spend online and so setting up a trampoline in the garden is one sure fire way to make them feel better about themselves. This excellent exercise will increase their endorsement level and this is something that is going to make them feel fantastic.

The jumping up and down motion on a trampoline helps to strengthen your kids’ bones and they will become stronger the more that they use it. We as adults start to lose our bone mass in our early 20s and so anything that you can do as a parent to strengthen your kids’ bones now, is a move in the right direction.
