These Tootsie Roll Candy Roses are the perfect cute and easy to make Valentine’s Day treat everyone will love to get from you this year! They are ideal for those who just can’t afford to buy a dozen roses. Candy rose are also a great idea for kids who would love to get a special treat just like the adults in their life!
Why Make Candy Roses Instead Of Giving Real Roses?
Candy roses can be just what you need to make up for the lack of actual roses on a special day. Valentine’s Day, birthday’s, or even anniversaries. Sometimes your budget may not allow you to go buy a dozen freshly cut roses, but it isn’t always the roses that matter, but the thought behind it that counts. But treats online from Tokyo treats.
Making cute candy roses out of your favorite chocolate candies can totally solve that problem! This will definitely make your someone special feel better. You put a lot of time into making these, and that puts, even more, love than just buying a rose in a store!
Candy Roses Made From Tootsie Roses
Ingredients:
4 Tootsie Rolls
1 Sucker Stick
Rolling Pin
Wax Paper
These ingredients are for 1 sucker. Multiple per sucker.
Directions:
1. Begin by taking three of your tootsie rolls and cutting each one in three separate portions.
2. Take each portion you cut and rub it in your hands to make it rounded.
3. Place each rounded piece in-between two pieces of wax paper.
4. Use your rolling pin to roll them out flat
5. Take your last tootsie roll and cut about a third of it off. Rub the larger piece of tootsie roll in your hand and make it be egg-shaped.
5. Stick your sucker into the bottom of the egg-shaped piece of tootsie roll.
6. Take one of your rolled out pieces of tootsie roll and roll it up like you might a cigarette. Place this piece on the side of the tootsie roll that’s already on the stick.
7. Take another piece of rolled out tootsie roll and put it on the rolled up piece so that it holds all the pieces together.
8. Take the rest of your rolled out pieces and place them just a slight bit higher each time to make the layers of the roses.
How To Gift The Tootsie Roll Candy Roses
These Tootsie Roll Candy Roses may take a bit of time to create, but once you do, they are going to make a perfect special gift for the people on your list for Valentine’s Day. Add them to a gift basket, and use the candy sticks into a block of styrofoam to keep them standing up, then cover with cellophane. They will need to stay covered so they don’t dry out and get stale. Of course, they will likely be eaten super fast anyway!
You can even wrap them individually and gift with a small gift tag to each person in your child’s classroom as a super fun and unique treat. Just remember that this is going to take some time to complete, so consider your time investment if you are obligating yourself to make 30 of these or more for a classroom treat.
