One of my favorite things to do around Halloween time is to go to Haunted Houses! They are so much and I love being scared, which is a bit strange! It’s all in good fun. I like to see what these haunted houses and haunted attractions come up with as scary! I usually try to fit in as many Haunted attractions in as I can every year because I always have a really great time at them with family and friends! Ohio has some really great haunted attractions, especially in the Cincinnati area! Some have even been voted some of the scariest in America! So let’s get right into it, here a few of the best Haunted Attractions for those who are around the Cincinnati area.
–U.S.S Nightmare: U.S.S Nightmare is a haunted steamboat located in Newport, Kentucky just over the bridge crossing from Cincinnati to Kentucky! This attraction offers a fright of a night spent on a boat! This attraction will cost you $15 going on a Wednesday, and $18 if you attend on Thursday–Sunday, they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. You get a tour of the boat that lasts about 30 minutes and will be filled with all sorts of scary sounds, effects, and scary creatures lurking all throughout the boat! They offer a kid friendly Halloween Lights show during the day and if you are looking for a REALLY scary night, be sure to attend the Captain’s Unrated Xtreme Tour onOctober 24&25 from 11:00PM-1:00AM for an extra notch of scary! U.S.S Nightmare has been voted one of the scariest attractions in Cincinnati, and rated in the top 13 scariest attractions in America by Haunt World Magazine.
–The Dent Schoolhouse: The Dent Schoolhouse, located in Dent, OH is a abandoned, haunted Schoolhouse! The story of this attraction is that the Schoolhouse really is haunted due to Charlie The Janitor having killed students years ago in the schoolhouse. General admission is $20, with your ticket purchase you will receive admission to the two attractions offered, walking through the frightening schoolhouse, as well as what’s called “The Queen City Slaughter Yard” which is an outdoor attraction. The Dent Schoolhouse is voted the #1 scariest attraction in the Cincinnati Tri State Area and has been voted the #5 most unique attraction in America, in the Top 10 Haunts List by Top Haunts Magazine, and in the Haunt World Top 13 by Haunt World Magazine.
–Kings Island Halloween Haunt: Kings Island, the Largest Amusement and Waterpark in the Midwest transforms into a Halloween Adventure in the Fall Season. This attraction is located in Mason, OH. Tickets for Kings Island start at $29.99. For the kiddos, Kings Island offers a kid friendly Snoopy’s Halloween Party between the hours of 12:00PM-6:00PM on Saturdays and Sundays where they can see a petting zoo, trick or treating, as well as costume contests! At night, for the older audience Kings Island switches into Halloween Haunt which is filled with the rides that you can typically ride in the theme park as well as Haunted Houses, Haunted Mazes, as well as various scare zones. Frightening actors are walking all throughout the park scaring you when you least expect it!
–Land of Illusion: Land of Illusion is located in Middletown, OH. The cost of admission is $34.99 and that will provide you admission to their 5 main Attractions. Their main attractions include 4 different Haunted Houses with different themes, as well as a haunted trail. Parking is $5 per car. It is only $10 as a general admission fee and gives you admission to it’s main attraction, the Haunted Hall, as well as it’s five tents, backyard areas, and they also have a giant vortex you can walk through! The great thing about Mt.Healthy Haunted Hall is that they offer a $2 discount on your ticket if you bring a canned good donation. This year on October 26th Mt. Healthy Haunted Hall will be toning down the scare so that kiddos can come walk through the hall while trick or treating and walk through the Vortex for just $5 per child!
