Healthy can mean different things to different people. The reality is that health not only consists of your body and physical being but it also includes other aspects of your life being in good condition. A person should not only be physically healthy, but they should also be mentally, spiritually and financially in good condition as well. This will allow you to live your life optimally.
Physical Health
When people talk about health, your physical health is what comes to mind. How do you feel? Do you have any physical medical conditions? To be able to be considered physically healthy you want to be the right weight and have the physical capabilities to be fit. To achieve this you need to eat properly. There are many different opinions as to what is eating healthy or what is even good for you. People even debate what things can cause disease. No one will argue with you that moderation is everything. Everyone needs to consume vegetables. Vegetables are from the earth and are all-natural and bring you nothing but good nutrients. Fruits are good as well because they are natural. The good thing about fruit is that they tend to be sweeter and are more enjoyable to younger folk (and adults). The problem with them tasting sweeter is that they do have sugar in them which some would say isn’t the best for your physical well-being. Drinking a lot of water is good for your system. They recommend drinking at least 8 glasses a day. This helps your system work properly and at its peak performance.
Besides eating well, physical activity is important to your physical health. Working out gets your heart pumping and allows it to work properly! Working out can be as easy as taking a walk or as rigorous as mountain climbing. There are so many different choices and opportunities to engage in physical activity. So many boutique gyms and classes, clubs you can join and even the standard YMCA can be helpful. They are everywhere you turn because everyone needs to work out!
All natural living has become popular as well to eliminate toxins from your life that can prevent optimal physical health. Investing in such natural items like organic cleaners, and toiletries to use around the home like charcoal bags can promote this type of lifestyle. You can also incorporate it into your daily routines like using wool dryer balls in your laundry or paper bags in your kids lunches instead of plastic.
Mental Health
It’s what’s on the inside that counts. That phrase is relevant when talking about mental health as well, while physical health is very important if the mind is not running as it should then your physical body can’t operate as it should either. To ensure better mental health it is important to implement routines and practices that affect a positive change. Surrounding yourself with positive people, finding a therapist, meditating and finding a new hobby and interests to stay engaged are all great ways to improve your mental health. While exercise benefits your overall appearance and physical health, it has also been shown to improve your mental health and thinking. And if those options do not work there is no shame in taking medication to help you get there.
Spiritual Health
When you first read spiritual health, you may think about religion. Spirituality is not necessarily religion. Spiritual well being involves living a purposeful life. Spiritual health creates a balance between physical, psychological and social aspects of human life. You want to make sure you are not only physically and mentally capable, but that you are also living out what you believe to be the best way of life.
Financial Health
A lot of people say that money can’t buy you happiness. That is very true, but it does help in making you more comfortable and less stressed. Creating and sticking to a budget can help your finances and save you money as well as stress. Cutting out frivolous spending and shopping smart by researching objects and services like insurance, internet, and cable services can help you save money by making sure you are getting the best price. So while money can’t buy happiness it sure can eliminate some unwanted stress.
So do your best to take this all-encompassing look at your life to make sure you are healthy mentally, physically, financially and spiritually.
