It used to be that getting healthy meant writing down every move, calculating calories burned, and filling notebooks with information pertaining to your daily activities to figure out whether you are meeting your physical goals. Keeping track of your workouts has become much easier in recent years thanks to wearable gadgets, leaving you to focus less on documentation and more on getting yourself moving. These bands aren’t all the same, however. Different options are available based on your activity types and style.
A Fitbit Surge, which can be worn on the wrist, offers the ability to track the routes you are running or walking along with the distances you have traveled on each outing and the pace you kept. The Garmin Swim, which is water resistant up to 50 feet and can document the distance that you have swam, also counts the strokes you use and the pace of your workout along with tracking intervals. If cycling is more your focus, you might opt for a band that you can wear around your ankle, tracking your cadence and pedal cycles along with your speed.
