Sharing is caring!

How do you feel when you hear someone took their own life by commiting suicide? You find it bizarre right? I understand it is difficult to come to terms with someone committing suicide.

Suicide is a topic many shy away from discussing because they find it comical that anyone would take their ownlife or perhaps they find it too firghtening to discuss.

People who commit suicide often give no clear signs and this makes one wonder, what could prompt anyone to resolve on suicide as the last resort?

There is more info on how to treat depression, a probable cause for suicide among people, using nootropic drugs, so go and read it now.

We will talk about the possible causes for suicide and how people contemplating it as an option can avoid thinking about it in this article.

Before we go on any further let’s run over the definition of suicide. Suicide is essentially when a person intentionally ends their own life.

The causes for suicide varies but I will try and cover as many as I can in the ensuing paragraphs.

  • Depression. This is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act. Depression impairs your productivity at work and also causes a strain on your relationship with people around you.

The symptoms of depression varies but oftentimes, people are diagnosed of being depressed after clinical diagnosis and the symptoms are:loss of interest and enthusiasm for things you normally find pleasurable, poor mental focus and alertness, changes in sleeping pattern, constant sadness amongst many other signs.

Depression is however treatable and the condition can be reversed once you use the right medication, therapy treatment and subject yourself to conditions that can help you beat this condition.

  • Substance misuse. Under the influence of drugs and alcohol one might become impulsive, feel suicidal and just take actions to satisfy one’s feelings.

It is observed that a depressed person who is now under the influence of alcohol or drug has more probable chance of commiting suicide because their unstableness increase the risk of them succumbing to their urge.

  • PTSD or Traumatic Stress. Some find it difficult to live with trauma. This stance is further corroborated by a research where it was observed that all together more than 40% of the people who had traumatic experience, including childhood sexual abuse, rape, or physical abuse attempted to take their own life at least once.
  • Hopelessness. The feeling of hopelessness experienced when people think all hope is lost and feel nothing can be done to improve their situation can prompt them to take their own lives. Many studies have shown this to be true both in the long and short term.

For example, suicide may seem like a way of finding peace for a person who is constantly battling with chronic pain or illness with no hope of a cure or reprieve from suffering.
