I am a complete sucker for Tootsie Rolls. They are my favorite candy, ever. When I was younger, my dad and I used to get into arguments over who got the last Tootsie Roll. That is why I am super excited to share this homemade Tootsie Roll recipe with you today! You are sure to enjoy these just as much as the original, if not more! 🙂
Homemade Candy – Delicious Homemade Tootsie Rolls
Ingredients & Supplies:
- 1 Pound Milk Chocolate or Chocolate Candy Melt
- ½ Cup Light Corn Syrup
- Plastic Wrap
- Wax Paper
- Cookie Sheet
- Microwave Safe Bowl and Measuring Cup
Prepare cookie sheet by lining with plastic wrap and leaving enough overlap to cover the top of the sheet as well.
In a microwave safe bowl, melt the milk chocolate or candy melt for 30 seconds. Stir and return to microwave for an additional 30 seconds. Repeat until chocolate is completely melted and smooth. Do not microwave too long or it will scorch.
Heat the corn syrup in microwave safe measuring cup for 45 seconds. Remove from microwave and immediately stir into melted chocolate. Do not over stir but be sure it is completely combined.
Poor the chocolate mixture onto the plastic wrap covered cookie sheet using spatula to spread it evenly and smooth. Cover top with plastic wrap.
Allow the mixture to set up, becoming somewhat hardened.
Cut the chocolate mixture into desired shapes or pinch off small amount to roll into little Tootsie Roll shapes.
Wrap each Tootsie Roll in a small rectangular sheet of was paper.
Serve for a special occasion or just because!
