Do you have family or friends coming to town for the weekend?

If you do, this means you have to get a few things ready around your home. Before you start scrubbing your home from top to bottom and moving things around, consider these 5 tips.

Getting your home ready for your guests doesn’t have to be difficult. Keeping the following in mind will make sure all goes smoothly without any problems!

1. Keep A Clean House

The easiest way to keep house guests happy is by making sure that your home is tidy and clean when they arrive. Some individuals prefer to do this all themselves, but it’s much easier to hire a cleaning service to help out. They will make sure your home is vacuumed, dusted, and cleaned from top to bottom.

2. Make Sure You Have Enough Pillows And Blankets

For your guests to be comfortable, you will need to make sure that they have a bed to sleep in and access to bedding supplies like sheets, pillows, and blankets. This will allow your guests to sleep comfortably and restfully in your home. The last thing you want is your guest being cold and having zero extra blankets to offer!

3. Refill All Bathroom Toiletries and Supplies

Guests will need to use hygiene products while they are staying with you. To be a good host, you should ensure plenty of supplies, like toilet paper, makeup wipes, shampoo/conditioner, and hand soap in the guest bathroom. You can go above and beyond by supplying feminine period products if any women are staying with you.

4. Stock Up on Snacks and Drinks

Hosting means feeding your guests while they are there. It’s good to stock up on items that are easy for snacking, like packages of crackers, sandwiches, or cookies. Also, gathering extra drinks that you know your guests prefer is a good idea. This makes it easier for your guests to be able to feel comfortable helping themselves to some easy-to-eat food when they are hungry.

5. Easy Menu Items to Feed A Crowd

It can be tricky to find a good solution for group breakfasts in the mornings. Going out is always an option but can be expensive. If you are looking for some easy to make and inexpensive meals to make, read below for some good recipes:

Quiche Bake

A quiche bake is a modified version of a traditional quiche that can be altered and made with any ingredients that you have available to you in your home already.

You will need either puff pastry dough or canned croissant dough and lay it flat on the bottom of a greased glass pan. Then, in a mixing bowl, combine about 8-10 eggs (the number of eggs can be lessened if you have less than 5 people), cheese, tomatoes, chopped bell pepper, black pepper, and salt. Pour the egg mixture over the dough.

Cover and bake for about 45 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Pancakes

Pancakes are very easy to make and, with few ingredients, can feed many people. You can make pancakes from scratch or purchase a premade mixture and combine it with water, an egg, and vegetable oil to create a batter.

Then pour the batter into a heated pan and wait for it to cook most of the way. When the pancakes develop bubbles, flip them to cook on the other side. Serve with syrup and butter.

The Takeaway

If you are planning to host an overnight event or guests for a weekend, you need to be prepared. Above are some good tips you can use to be more stocked and ready to take care of and feed your guests while they are visiting.
