Every year, after the cold and harsh winter, we wait for this time around to enjoy the sun a bit more. But what gets our stress hormone all pumped up is our kiddo getting bored all the time. We always want to do something for him which is productive and helpful but can’t really find it. This also gets us irritated sometimes. But no worries, Etutorworld has found out a list for you and as well as your kid, just read along:

  1. Get a Chore Chart

We all know that the habit of being responsible should be developed in children at a very young age. This could be done this summer. Your kid after summers will turn out to become a more responsible human being. Also, he will be busy with himself. It has even more benefits like you get to relax a bit more because he pulls off some daily chores of the household. His chart can include his own morning care routine like brushing, bathing and also stuff like taking the pet for a walk and cleaning the garden.

  1. Read

Reading is a very good habit. All successful people turn out to be good readers. But here is the thing, there are more chances than not that your kid is a non-reader. You need to bribe him with incentives for the same. Stepping into local libraries is a good option. Joining reading programs and all will also be a great idea. All this will help him to develop an interest in reading. You can also read together, that will keep him motivated. Reading recreational novels with you will help him a great deal in the future and he would be spending his time in a productive and healthy manner. You can also get him enrolled in an online summer course. This will help him learn a lot of new things that will contribute to his personality.

  1. Gardening

Among many suggestions, one of our suggestions would be that if you are planning something for summer, plan for the whole of it. Gardening is one of them. All you need is a small backyard and that is it. Your kids can learn gardening from scratch, and you may never know whether they develop an interest in it or not. Also, gardening not only offers to keep you busy but, at the same time offers some surprising benefits. It is also a skill-building activity which is really productive and develops your child in many aspects.

  1. Say yes to Board Games

This is an old-fashioned idea to pass your summertime joyfully. Nowadays people, especially kids don’t really enjoy those old-fashioned family board game nights because they don’t really have one. Coming to that, you can keep having those game nights once a while, say, every week or so. Games like Zenga, monopoly, scrabble, and business is not only great for passing time but also add to the overall development of the child. For example, scrabble contributes to the vocabulary of the child, whereas monopoly and business add to the business aspect like the budgeting. Also, factually, Games provide a 23 percent gain over traditional learning.

  1. Go outdoors

In the 21st century, an average kid is spending more two hours a day over their electronics. By a kid, I mean someone who is less than 8 years of age. This needs to change. Gone are the days when kids spent more time outdoors than indoors. Summertime is the best time to get it back. Replace phones with footballs and tell them to play. The weather is perfect for the same. He will not only engage himself but also, get physically fit and make new friends.

  1. Let them be

You might be surprised reading this, but this point means that let your kids be bored for a while. Sounds strange? Doesn’t it?  Now here is the reason. Kids should learn the value of things. Getting them things easy in life won’t help them so. This is the reason we end this article with this note. Let them learn the value of things and don’t immediately fill them with tasks. But at the same time don’t allow them too much of screen time too.

Summers can be really fruitful if you plan the month beforehand
