One of the things that has helped me so much in my spiritual development and the psychic journey has been learning how to meditate properly. It has enabled me to quieten my mind and helped me receive messages from my spirit guides and loved ones passed during my psychic reading sessions. It has also helped me to feel so supported by those we cannot see and the universe itself. I believe Meditation Courses are beneficial for everyone.
When I began experiencing anxiety attacks last year, I realised that I had been stuck in survival mode for some time. As a mother of two rambunctious kids and a psychic medium in Melbourne, I needed to practice meditation to get out of my own head space and to be able to relax.
I quickly found once I learnt to relax properly, my tarot readings and face-to-face psychic readings flowed much better and I became much more productive for my clients. Click here to get your personal tarot reading online.

Before regular meditations my mind was always running at a million miles per hour and relaxation was very hard for me…..near impossible actually.
Like most mums, I’m a busy person and relaxing just wasn’t something that came naturally. I knew I needed to learn to mediate to calm my anxious thoughts. Funnily enough running was my first step in learning to meditate.
I found it so soothing, I couldn’t think of anything was whilst I was just trying to breathe! It was from here I began to look into more traditional forms of meditation.
Here’s 7 easy tips on how you can get started.
1: Start with a shower meditation.
I started with some simple shower meditations. Whilst the conditioner was on my head, I’d sit there and let the water run over me, and imagine it was washing away all my anxious thoughts.
Starting with just a quick shower meditation is an easy introduction into the world of meditation because its something you can do on a daily basis anyway, you don’t need to dedicate any extra time in to your busy schedule. You can just learn to use that shower time more productively.
2: Sign up for an online meditation session.
We have been running online meditations recently for the parents of children with additional needs. We have received feedback from our other clients that they were able to relax and meditate for the first time with us during our online meditation sessions.
Online sessions with other people can seem unusual at first, but once you find a great group with the same lifestyle issues as yourself, it can be very calming and helpful.
3 Start small and work your way up.
I still find myself going for the 10 minute meditations, any longer and my mind starts to wander. Start off with a short meditation and build your way up to something longer.
4: Notice and follow your breath.
Focus on your breathing, notice the breath that goes in your nose and out your mouth, focus on making those breaths longer and longer.
Take a long deep breath, hold it in for 2 seconds and then release.
5: Do a body scan.
Start at your head and allow your mind to scan your body, picking up any parts of your body that may be holding tension, allowing you to be mindful and release the tension within your mediation.
6: Follow a Guided Meditation.
You can find guided meditations on YouTube and Spotify. There is a really good app called Insight Timer that allows you to choose from many different guided meds to get you into the swing of it.
7 Don’t expect perfection.
As a psychic medium, I do a mediation daily. Sometimes they bring me complete bliss, sometimes they bring me visions, sometimes my spirit guides visit and sometimes I spend the entire time pushing everyday thoughts out of my head. It’s like working out, some work outs are better than others. But all are better than nothing!
