CBD is on the rise in many areas. Celebrities, athletes, and even medical experts are using CBD to improve their quality of life. In recent times there has been a movement composed mostly of mental health experts that advocates the use of this drug for different mental disorders and conditions.

But we are going to focus on a single condition: CBD for anxiety. Yes, science bears it out, CBD is effective in relieving anxiety. But before you start looking for where to buy CBD online, it would surely be useful for you to be more informed about what CBD is and how it works, if only to have an informed answer if a skeptic asks you dismissively why you are taking oil.

Let’s start with CBD first. What is CBD?

CBD is the abbreviation, or acronym, for cannabidiol. Cannabidiol is a chemical compound belonging to the group of cannabinoids, of which there are more than one hundred and counting.

Obviously, cannabinoids were so named because these chemical compounds are found in the Cannabis plant. CBD, for example, is found in higher amounts in the Cannabis Indica variety. The other variety of marijuana, Cannabis Sativa, contains virtually no CBD but does contain THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), a psychoactive chemical compound. This one has great recreational value and alters your mental state.

How CBD Helps With Anxiety

First you have to define anxiety, which is not exactly easy even among the most informed. Stress and anxiety are closely related and therefore are often the subject of confusion. Stress usually has to do with things that happen outside of us; There is a traffic jam and we are late for work or an appointment: We are stressed. There is a pandemic and we don’t have money to pay the rent: We get stressed.

Anxiety, on the other hand, takes place within us, in our mind. There is a traffic jam and we cannot get to our work: We start to think about the repercussions, a dismissal, a fight from our boss, the looks … Our body tenses, we perspire, and we feel cold.

That is, anxiety causes a physical response. This is a list of some of the symptoms caused by anxiety:

  • Trouble sleeping
  • Irritability, bad mood
  • Increase in heart rate and blood pressure
  • Extreme perspiration
  • Difficult to focus
  • Headache, back, stomach, etc.

How to use CBD oil

For generalized anxiety:

Take at least twice a day. Recommended three times a day; Morning, afternoon and night. Start with the lowest dose, one drop, and increase until you find a dose that works for you. It is not necessary to take the same dose every time, as some people may find it counterproductive to take CBD in the morning. Thus, you can limit yourself to a minimum dose in the morning and increase throughout the day.

For panic attacks:

Given the arbitrariness of panic attacks, it is recommended to maintain a constant dose of CBD to prevent attacks and, if they do occur, it is cushioned. A small dose (1-2 drops of CBD oil) is recommended in five applications throughout the day: morning, mid-morning, noon, afternoon, and night. In case of a panic attack, apply three drops directly under the tongue and hold the oil there for a few minutes, as this helps it take effect more quickly.

For anxiety in social situations:

It is recommended, for those who suffer from anxiety when they have to expose themselves to social situations, take a dose of CBD oil one hour before exposing themselves to said situation. If, for example, your job asks you to talk to clients from time to time or to hold conferences, these specific situations are easily handled with CBD oil an hour before.

For anxiety during the night:

It is advisable for those who suffer from anxiety when trying to sleep to take a moderate dose of CBD oil before bed, preferably an hour before bed. In this way, you get to bed already relaxed and it is less likely that anxiety will assail you when you go to sleep.

As you can see, the applications of CBD oil are many, and there are still many to discover. And remember: Anxiety is a vicious cycle. The first thing you should do is lessen the symptoms, so you can then focus on the root of the anxiety. Nobody says it’s easy, but things like CBD oil help a lot.
