This year has been full of marriages, deaths, births as well as split ups among celebrities. Did you experience any of these? One of the reasons that many people are interested in what is going on in the lives of celebrities is because they like the idea of relating to them if they are experiencing some kind of life change.
Unfortunately, there were as many split ups, if not more than births in 2017. You are well aware of Janet Jackson and Wissam Al Mana splitting up, as well as Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom. And who can forget about Tyga and Kylie Jenner splitting up this past year?
Those are just a few examples, and listed below are more examples of celebrity splits that happened this past year.
Theresa Caputo and Larry Caputo
Theresa Caputo of Medium and her husband, Larry Caputo, split after being together for 28 years. That is when they decided to legally separate, even though they do love each other and have 2 adult children Larry Jr, 24 and Victoria, 23. However, Caputo has been quite open about her marital problems for a while, and they finally came to the decision to end the marriage.
Jennifer Lawrence and Darren Aronofsky
This couple broke up in October, however they are amicable, and even sat with one another.
Lindsey Vonn and Kenan Smith
Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn and her boyfriend, Kenan Smith, split in November after one year of dating. In fact, Vonn Tweeted out in late October Sometimes you can be surrounded by people but feel desperately alone… which was a hint that things had gone sour between the two.
Jennifer Hudson and David Otunga
This couple has been together for 10 years, got engaged in 2008, and have a son, David Jr who is 8, and they ended up splitting up in November. Sadly Hudson requested and received a protective order against her ex-fiance since she was worried about the child’s wellbeing since she was worried he was in danger.
Selena Gomez and The Weeknd
Canadian singer The Weeknd and Selena Gomez broke up in October 2017 after dating for 10 months. Speculation is that because she was hanging around her ex Justin Bieber at certain times, The Weeknd pulled away from her. Justin Bieber was in touch with her after the kidney transplant she had in the summer, and The Weeknd didn’t like that.
Terrence Jenkins and Jasmine Sanders
The couple went their separate ways in October because Jasmine was traveling a lot, and Jenkins did not like the fact he hardly saw her. Therefore they split.
Shannon Beador and David Beador
Shannon Beador of The Real Housewives of Orange County announced that in October, she and David separated after being married for 17 years. They have 3 daughters together, and they are co-parenting them and are committed to staying amicable for that purpose. Other than that, there was no information given as they both wanted their privacy during a difficult time.
Tamar Braxton and Vincent Herbert
This couple filed for divorce in October, which was one month shy of their ninth anniversary, and they have a son together named Logan, who is 4. She was one of those many with fertility struggles followed as they were told they would have troubles getting pregnant, yet at the age of 35, she fell pregnant unexpectedly after all!
Tinsley Mortimer and Scott Kluth
Tinsley Mortimer of Real Housewives of New York and her boyfriend, CouponCabin CEO Scott Kluth, have split because of being so distant often, but they are still friends and they hope to build a future together one day again.
Scheana Marie and Robert Valletta
Scheana Marie and Robert Valletta of Vanderpump Rules broke up in October, as they both were starting to part their ways due to busy schedules on both of their ends. However, they hope to have a reconciliation in the future.
Christina El Moussa and Doug Spedding
Christina El Moussa of The Flip or Flop and Doug Spedding broke up in October, as he did end up going into inpatient rehab, as Christina supported his decision to seek treatment and plans to keep in contact with him while he is recovering.
Robert Pattinson and FKA twigs
Both the actor and singer split up in October, and ended their engagement as they had gotten engaged in April 2015. They made their last public appearance together in May of 2017 during the Cannes Film Festival.
Drew Taggart and Haley Rowe
The Chainsmokers DJ and girlfriend Haley split up in October. In fact, they had broken up several times over the course of the year, but now that she moved out, it is official. They are done.
Harvey Weinstein and Georgina Chapman
Harvey Weinstein and his wife, Georgina Chapman, split during his sexual harassment scandal. She could not forgive her husband because of what he put these other women through, and therefore left him. They got married in 2007, and have two children together. There is no other information on the divorce because Chapman requested to have privacy during this hard time.
Barbie Blank and Sheldon Souray
Barbie Blank of WAGS, and Sheldon Souray, the former NHL player, separated recently. They both got married in February 2016 in Mexico. However, the marriage was short lived. There is no other information as to why they split up.
Gina Torres and Laurence Fishburne
This couple split up recently after being married for 14 years. They share a daughter Delilah, 10, and are still close friends. Their families also still get along. There is no other information as to why the couple did split. However, at least it was an amicable split.
There were other celebrity splits that took place in 2017, and from this list it appears that October was a rough month for ending up in splitsville for many of these individuals. There will be more weddings, divorces, births and deaths in 2018 as well, and so on. If you are experiencing a life change that involves any of that, again it is comforting to know you are not alone in your struggles or life changes.
