Dangerous Past by A.F. Ebbers is a suspense/mystery novel. Professional assassins are stalking an airline captain and his wife. There’s a deadline that they have to kill him by and it is supposed to look like an accident or suicide. The couple does not know why they are being targeted. They are slowly pulled into a dangerous web of intrigue by a murderous criminal network who offers the pilot his wife’s life if he will give in to their demands. He must choose between doing what should be done or keeping his family alive by allowing a murderous and powerful VIP to escape his past.

This book is very character driven and has a great story. I like stories that go back and forth between present day and the past, and this does just this. You go from present day in Texas and Washington, D.C. to the 60s-70s in the Vietnam war. This is a very good book if you like studying the Vietnam War because it is historically accurate. It grips you in the very beginning chapter because it opens up with drama in the very beginning and with a death.
